FORMULA ONE -SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

FIRST EVER NIGHT RACE IN THE F1 CALENDAR!~

The awesome event ended on a high note yesterday night.. The news were splashed all over the front pages of newspapers^^
A major event for Singapore in 2008. Yeah of course $150m had been poured in, it BETTER BE successful, OR ELSE.. Heheh.. A god damn waste of taxpayers' and sponsors' money.

I, the average not-so-rich citizen, cant afford the F1 tickets which costs around $1000. Yeps, Formula One's basically a rich man's sport, so the prices of tickets are unsurprisingly steep. The tickets were all snapped up anyway.
Before the event, i only know Sophie's going to watch with her family ---at the VIP stand near the most dangerous turn. WOAHS!

Then when i login Facebook, today i realised that there's 2 lucky chaps who went to watch it too!~
Koped the pics from there =D

The i-dunno-which-grandstand-cos-i-din-take-this-picture with the Singapore Flyer in the background. Not bad sia~

And lucky Danial got Felipe Massa's autograph.. Yeahs it's for real, his friend even took pictures of the 'process' to 'certify' the authenticity of it. One of the pics is now his Facebk profile pic. Hehe..
Massa's a title contender BEFORE the Singapore leg of the Grand Prix, but he didnt manage to earn a single point this time. So his season is kinda OVER. The overall champion's within reach of Hamilton. Quite sad for Ferrari this time. First it was Massa's pit stop horror, driving off with the fuel hose still attached and hurling a crew member to the ground in the process. Luckily the other Ferrari driver Raikkonen cruised into the grid in the pit lane slowly, if not the crew member might've been knocked down by the subsequent car. Afterwards, the camera zoomed in on several Ferrari crew members carrying the huge fuel hose using their shoulders, back to their pit. That was so embarassing can?!?

This series of photos was taken by another guy Jeremy..
He said that's Lewis Hamilton..
I say.. It should be.. Well.. cos i wasnt there.. *sigh*

The cars whizzing past when the lights turned green. The BEST part of the race as all the drivers try to wrestle past each other & squeeze into whatever space thats available.

My whole family watched the event.. 2 full hours.. AT HOME la.. what else?
EXCITING!~
I love watching F1 racing since hmmm many years ago? Mediacorp tv used to screen the races many years ago, but stopped. So my bro and i switched to watching malaysia channel, but in recent year(s), there wasnt any to be found screening there too =x

Hoots.. I love the picturesque backdrop, the tricky turns...
BUT not the bumpy roads and plenty of debris on the tracks. Singapore's a garden city.. Yes. but there's just too many dried leaves all over the track and once a race car vroom past, it's like 'wow..' leaves and more leaves flying all around. Just like autumn, but it's less romantic over there.

The winner to the race turned out to be Fernando Alonso!

No one, even he himself thought he had chances on the podium, cos he was starting from 15th position and given the narrow circuit, it was near impossible to overtake so so many cars in his way. Ironically, when his teammate Piquet crashed his car, it became the turning point for this race when the safety car was put in action. That somehow put the 2 Ferraris behind. (1st and 3rd become 16th and 18th lorh.. how sad) But thats where the excitement from F1 comes from. Unpredictable conditions and situations at times^^

The Renault car that Alonso drives.. Oki.. it's just a similar one. It cant possibly be on display when he needs it for the race right? LOL..

Though drivers' faces are hidden underneath helmets and all.. The eye candy factor's present in F1 too! Sorry guys... i arent talking abt grid girls..

I used to think Kimi Raikkonen's super cute (when he first came out at the age of 22.. super talented too! But his McLaren car wasnt that reliable then.. Wasted many of his podium chances) Now he's with Ferrari (yeah more reliable carmaker) but that couldnt help much when he smashed into a wall with only 4 more laps to go. Sigh..

Now, one of the hottest drivers should be Nico Rosberg, i know some girls are going gaga over Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel's not that bad..

Enough of sidetracking..

I'm certainly looking forward to next year's Grand Prix in Singapore!

Yeps, for those who arent into F1 racing, this is an annual competition, unlike World Cup and Olympics =D

Realised that i hadnt blogged much about school recently.
Hmm.. basically cos there isnt much to talk about la~

An interesting statistics lecturer who live and breathe Stats --yeah he said that himself.
He likes to stereotype and certainly arent bashful about it.
He included a series of interesting quotes and sayings on Stats in our lec notes, shall post them here if i have the time =D

Actually i have a boring econs lecturer who speaks in a monotonous tone =x
He throws in an occasional joke at an unexpected moment and there's laughter all around, that's when u sense that the students are still alive. Hehe..
But some of his jokes are a bit 'yellow-colored'
The guys usually get a good laugh..
I remember once he kept harping on 'the first time' when he was explaining Law of Diminishing Utility. First time there's novelty and blah blah.. Then somehow lead to saying thats how many marriages fall apart after 7 years..

Last lesson days ago...
He said examiners get a high when they see models, and he himself also get a high from seeing models. Yeah he loves to repeat his jokes for more dramatic impact. Okies i take it as his alternative way of telling us how important it is to illustrate using models.

He also likes to use the CD 跳针method to get our attention, repeating a short phrase several times.. '2 parallel budget line, 2 parallel budget line....' 'Must always remember to draw 2 parallel budget line'
By right he should've said 2 parallel budget LINES
But his english arent too good, so he probably cant pronounce the 's'

Talking about econs lecs, reminds me of my funny econs tutorials last year. Those posts never fail to make me laugh whenever i re-read them~
But theres no tutorials in this programme.
Feels damn weird lorh..
Seems so slack..
Yet have to like mug a lot..
Cos the exam is like god-damn-important-until-once-you-fail-one subject-u-are-in-deep-shit which means have to retake it another year. Which also means delayed graduation. *faints*

Ohh and theres a stats test coming up next week.
I hope i'll make time to study, if not i wouldnt turn up that day. Hehs..

Sunday~

Got up early in the morning.. Cos i was going to meet YW to make bday cards for bday gals Cindy and Si to go with the presents we bought previously~
But i was late cos i was trying to put on my contacts (bought just last week) spent a long time trying to put them in =x
Until...
....
One of the lens tore..
*faints*
I tried putting it in, but it didnt adhere well, fell out and as i took it away, i realised the big tear
*speechless*
So i took out the other lens that i managed to put in my other eye. I can't possibly go out with only 1 eye's vision. And that's the only pair i've got. Wore specs again.. Sians

Here's a display of the cards i've made. Yes, with supervisor YW's help.
Yeah, i'm the one designing, drawing, coloring the cards, she helped me in some of the coloring and outlining. That explains why the character on Si's card has big-small eyes.
Completed the cards within 2 hours, thats considered quite fast yeah~
If it's all up to YW, give her 2 days also cannot finish.. LOL.. She's somehow slow when it comes to art. Took so long to color, yet she said she wants to take part in coloring competition. Later all the kids finish coloring before u do, then super malu hor~

The covers~
Scholarly characters for Si and a princessy character for Cindy^^

Cindy's card..
I love my series of kao3 jiao1 mian4 bao1..

Si's card^^ can tell hor? Lol

4 of us, excluding YW.. we actually took many photos, but somehow this mosquito only uploaded one on her blog leh.. Haiz..

We had late lunch almost like dinner le at Eighteenth chef in Eastpt at YW's recommendation. The small cafe's glass windows, fridge doors are all covered with graffiti drawn by who else? Students lor. I saw a giant 'Anglican' written on the fridge door and it didnt take me long to notice a big 'TJC' written with correction fluid. So it isnt that easy to spot the cafe's name. The exterior looked too cluttered.

YW said the baked rice's super nice. Hehe.. But she didnt like the Creamy Mango Cheese Baked Rice that day, claiming it was bitter. I ate some of it, it isnt bitter, thats too exaggerated, it's just not as sweet and tasty as mine (both of us ordered the same dish)
The baked rice seems to be just plain rice topped with cheese and whatever-toppings-u-chose and left to bake. I prefer flavoured rice a la Pizza Hut and Pastamania.

What i like is the price, for $6+ student's meal, inclusive of ice lemon tea and a scoop of choco ice cream. Quite worth it~~ Can't even buy a plate of baked rice in the places mentioned above =x

Went to Changi Airport T3 with XZ and YW to walk walk.
No pics taken as it was too dark to see any aeroplanes for the T3 viewing gallery.

Nice day out with the 2e girls^^

This post should've been here weeks ago..
I think 2 weeks to be exact =p

Met up with Mosquito after school... For her, it's after work to shop in Bugis.
She wanted to buy her skirt (we went Bugis Str more than once for that, but she never found one that she liked.. well.. )

Dined at Soup Spoon.. We shared a Clam Chowder Grande set with a 'free' canned drink which i redeemed with my Soup Spoon card. Turned out that the drink wasn't in the list of free canned drink, as the server walked to our table to tell us. But we needn't pay for it since she admitted that it was her mistake in not informing us. Hehs so that's how we got a free drink -sparkling orange juice, slightly bitter.. and i've never seen it anywhere else in Singapore!

Shopped around in Bugis, bought quite a lot of stuff before the shops close for the day.
I got myself a dress, a skirt, 3 tshirts. Spent around $50~~

I like this black dress with lace, looks kinda jap inspired style --I LIKE!!! Wanna wear it soon~

This is the checkered skirt with suspenders.. Looks so kawaii.. Hehehehe..
I like the words on the yellow tee too. Did i mention i bought the tee cos i love that shade of canary yellow? =D The words on the tee 'I'm the Evil Twin' *hehs evil grins*
It's a pity they didnt sell another tee which reads 'I'm the Good Twin', if not YW and i would've bought one each and wear it together some day. Cos she was quite tempted to buy this design too, but she eventually settled for 'Always late, but worth the wait' when i decided to buy the Evil twin tee.

I've worn this outfit to school on thur, with leggings yeah cos this skirt's too short for me. Practically sitting on nothingness if i were to sit down like that. Girls, you know what i mean..
Received compliments on my skirt and dress sense.. Oohs.. Really made my day^^
Love yall!
I wore it to work too, on late notice by boss as she needed extra help. My colleagues went 'Woah, why today so kawaii? Want to dian4 the shuai4 ge1 arh? But he left already leh.'
LOLs... But i dun think the shuai4 ge1 is shuai4... maybe it's just to me la.. Even the boss refers to him as the shuai4 ge1. *shrugs*

Mid Autumn Festival~

I spent last saturday with my SFA dance troupe people~
Some of them are performers at the mid autumn fest family night at AMK pri and we actually have 2 stalls --booked 2 pushcarts & added 2 tables.. So that effectively adds up to 4 stalls.. Hehe.. I was initially assigned to the tattoo stall, then to the balloons stall, later they realised nobody's at the hello kitty and jumbo sales stall, so i stationed myself there.

Tadah! The hello kitty stall...
'Signboard' was drawn by Liu xing. She tried to draw a kitty face, but failed.. So in the end, we asked a guy to help us draw that cute kitty face there. How ironic.. Girls who like hello kitty can't draw it..

C'mon take a closer look at the merchandise~
Yun jie got these stuff from a supplier..
Cute pens and kitty related stuff, like coin purses, bags, slippers..

Ruo dan's real fast in posing for photographs!!
She spotted me taking pics of the stall and immediately posed for me. Can hardly believe that she was chatting away happily a split second ago~~ Lols..

That's the jumbo sales stall beside the kitty stall..
2nd hand hello kitty's going on sale. I'd some of them too, i could still remember 8 years ago, the Hello Kitty fever swept through Singapore and many Singaporeans queued for hours at McDonald's outlets to buy extra value meals just for those kitties. My kitty collection's still sitting in my bedroom cabinet. All in pairs and are still in their original packaging^^

That's what the pushcarts look like from afar~
Heehee.. Missy Cloud's going to be the pushcart operator for a day! =p

Took a picture of the face painting table when i sat there to rest my tired legs after standing at the pushcart unloading the goods and arranging them for sale. Somehow i was the one arranging the goods, so i decided i should stick to helping out at the stall since i was already familiar with the goods and prices (^o^v)
Face painting's cool~
Especially when there's 3 pros --Herman, Maria and Jiayi~

Back to the Kitty stall~
Zi shun stuffed 3 brand new Doraemons into the old snoopy pumpkin box he fished out from the Jumbo sales bag.
So cute right!~
As people started streaming in when the sky turns dark. The event soon began..
We were swarmed by people who wanted to buy lightsticks~
In around half an hour or so, we sold all 100 sticks we have.. Hoots.. Ruo dan and i were really busy then.

What i didnt like about being a pushcart operator is that, when the kids come to buy things, they will call us 'auntie auntie' as they dangle cash and coins. HMPH!!!
We are still young leh.. Okies.. I know those kids are younger..
So when those little kids see older females, they will instinctively call them 'auntie'. Well, i shall 'open one eye and close one eye' and forgive those innocent kids.

After the lightsticks sold out, the next popular thing is battery operated lanterns which produce sounds and light. Hehe.. At night, anything that emits light will attract people to buy ya.. Haha..

Before the night draws to an end, they started playing with the leftover balloons..

Here's yun jie who's trying to 'walk the dog'

Packed up and headed back to SFA.. it's around 11pm already.. Hoots..

On a fine weekday afternoon, Cloud's walking along the void decks of several flats on her way towards a bus stop. At the first void deck where there's several seats near the lift lobby, she sees a group of Pasir Ris Crest Sec sch crowded around the round table. One boy puffed and as he passed a cigarette to a girl beside him, he said 'eh... eh...' to get her attention. Hmm, Cloud's thinking the cigarettes must've been brought by the one and only boy in the group who's not in sch uniform (an older boy perhaps?) And these youngsters just smoked for kicks. From one stick per group, it'll soon proceed to one stick per person.. Then that would be too late =x
Cloud sighes...
Haiz.. Why pick up smoking at such a young age? Peer pressure?
Maybe.. But that isn't worth wasting your life away. Smoking is like 慢性自杀.. It KILLS, slowly, but surely..

As Cloud continues walking, she reached another void deck, saw a couple of boys from Marist Stella --duh! There's only boys studying in that school.. Haha..
They are playing table tennis on the only table tennis table in the area (there used to be many.. but somehow they were all removed) So she thought 'Whoa, these guys are so guai1, haha, table tennis is a healthier after-sch recreation activity than smoking.'
Then as she walked past another group of Marists sitting at a round table nearby, she spotted one boy puffing away. Oh yes, another underaged smoker.
Cloud *faints*

It isn't a wonder as to why tobacco companies are so damn wealthy~

Boys Over Flowers aka Hana Yori Dango aka Hanadan aka 流星花园movie~~

Caught the sneak preview of this japanese movie on wednesday before it officially opens on thursday with Julie^^

It's the second sequel to the immersely popular idol drama based on a manga. Though i didnt watch the 1st 2 parts of the jap drama (i only watched the first season of the taiwan adaptation... but that was like hmmm.. how many years ago? i cant remember) But i really enjoyed watching the movie. Yeah, cos of the pretty boys? Hmmm.. Ahahaha.. Maybe.. Maybe..
The small theatre's quite packed for a weekday afternoon, as expected, most of them are girls. Julie's surprised to see many Malay girls in there too, i guess the power of Hana Yori Dango transcends national as well as racial borders. But it's during their fasting month, cant eat/drink while watching movies... it must be tough going..

The majority of the movie centres around Makino(杉菜) and Domyoji(道明寺), the rest of the F4s are mere sidekicks. Just appear dashing at certain pivotal points in the movie.. Hehe.. Like (花瓶)'vases'.. As for the plot, not too strong i would say. It gives the producers a reason to bring the actors to exotic locations like Las Vegas, Hong Kong, some deserted island in the South Seas.

Domyoji's unwavering love for Makino is simply amazing, unbelievable.. He just knows that she's the one for him and he's going to marry her no matter what. It's Makino who's always unsure of their relationship. And that sparks off their journey to diff countries, keke.. shan't tell more about it lest i reveal the little 'twist' in the story. But that's just a little twist in the plot, everybody knows the ending anyway. If they didnt get married, i bet fans gonna complain and throw popcorn in the theatre man =D

I like Shun Oguri as Hanaza Rui(花泽类)! In the first scene of Rui, i heard girls going 'Awww......' in the theatre. Hehe.. They must be drooling. Rui looks effortlessly dashing in the pure white suit, which really suit the character. I like the blondish hair too, somehow the actor looks much nicer with dyed hair. Cos i'm watching the jap drama Hana Kimi now, also starring Shun Oguri.. He's the high jumper Sano Izumi (佐野泉), the long black hair he sported don't look quite right leh. Hehe.. So i figured out that he should stick to blondish hair^^
Talking about Rui, the radio station that i'm listening to is currently playing an old song 'Make A Wish' by Vic Zhou ---coincidentally, it's sang by that guy who rose to fame by starring as Rui in the Taiwanese version!

----------------------------------------------------------------
I'm now into the 5th episode of Hana-Kimi (jap version). Fiona told me about the numerous jap pretty boys in there half a year ago perhaps, got me interested but somehow i didnt manage to watch it. Gonna thank Julie~~ If not i don't think i'll ever watch it.. It's nice!!!!!!! Awww...
Haha.. I am 'aww-ing' not because of Shun Oguri but because Toma Ikuta is super duper cute in there as Nakatsu (中津秀一). I think the Japanese version is better than the Taiwanese one. Though i prefer Wu Chun as the male lead^^ Shun Oguri's kinda skinny-looking, don't look like an athlete leh.. As for the character of Nakatsu, i like both Jiro and Toma^^
They both seemed to be the perfect fit for the manga character. Thanks to Qi Ling, i read the manga last year (or was it last last year??... ahh bad memory)

Nakatsu. Hana Kimi. Nakatsu. Nakatsu.
JAPPO FEVER~~~
