Verena's farewell party~~

Met up with many 2406 people, after so so long.. Cos we didnt have any class gathering or whatsoever after graduation. How sad hur?
Before heading to the condo where the function's held, i met up with Clover who brought me there^^ heehee if not i dun think i can make my way to that place. I arent familiar with Marine Parade area ya..
When we entered the clubhouse, we were 'Wowed!' the entrance and staircases look so grand & it has warm lighting (in other words, kinda dark) oh and it's quiet too. Seems to me that we'd entered a hidden place in a computer game and there's multiple doors all around us, we dunno which to enter. Maybe a dragon will spring out from one of the 'wrong' doors??? Hehe.. Too much imagination. Clover tried to open one of the doors but it was locked, so she called Vere, turned out that she came out from the adjacent door. Cloud: *faints* LOL

There's much food but few people when we arrived, it was almost 7pm, still early perhaps. Only Si Xuan from our cg's there. After eating, we headed downstairs to play snooker. Hehe.. Actually we dunno how to play snooker, so we played it the pool style. It's weird though, cos there are much more balls, smaller in size and the majority are red in colour. Unlike the bigger pool balls which are separated by solid colors and stripes.
After sometime, 2406 people started streaming in. Di hui, Ya wen, Qi ling, Pei fen, Leck, Jia hui, Xin an, Sebastian, Qi en, Darren... I hope i didnt miss anyone... Or did i? If that's the case, I'm so sorry, i've STM at times *blinks & pouts*

The present that i'd chosen for Vere (4 persons sharing =p) turned out to be the biggest of the lot, cos Clover & i saw the plastic carrier containing the bear bear cushion stuffed with presents from other friends. Heheheheh..

I guessed everyone had changed little over the past half a year or so.
Except YW ditched her long tresses for a bob haircut, Darren came in his army uniform (looking slightly more mature???.. hmmm the 3 question marks are essential behind that statement)

Oh and i realised i have low tolerance for alcohol... Drank a cup of sparkling water and my face turned red after 20min. Hoots.. Guan1 gong1~~ I seldom/rarely drink la..
There's another guan1 gong1 from 2406 too ---Xin an.. Hehe..
So when Vere offered me another cup from another bottle that they brought to the party, i declined. While Xin an downed another cup though Seb advised him against it. YW told me it's more bitter than the previous bottle... i was thinking phews lucky i didnt take it, i dont like too bitter stuff.
Another i-duno-how-many-minutes-later, we spotted Xin an stumped on the floor, leaning against the wall. Hmm.. Something not right eh? There's chairs in the room, so everyone's either sitting on chairs or standing and chatting. What's he doing there?
Turned out that he's drunk, though he refused to believe it. So DH asked me to walk in a straight line. He tried to.. but he had problems standing properly, so well, forget it la~ We know we know..

SX, YW and i left at 10+pm, dunno how the guys manage to 'drag' XA to QE's house. But it's not the first time they've to deal with a drunk XA according to DH, so i think they should've no probs.. Keke..

By the time i took a train home together with YW, my face's just pink-ish. Hehe.. Like i've put on blusher. By the time i reached home, yeah i'm back to normal~~ heng arh~~

Gotta miss Vere who's flying off to London~~~
Cool leh.. Study law in UK.. Just like my pri sch fren Melissa who's in Switzerland studying Tourism & Hospitality..
If only i'm that rich..
Yeah..

If only~~

Wanted to blog about the Olympics weeks ago.. Now, finally when i put my pen, or rather put my fingers on the keyboard, the Olympics games is drawing to an end. Time flies, i thought i just watched the opening ceremony.. Hehe.. now anticipating the closing ceremony~

I enjoyed watching rhythmic gymnastics, beach volleyball, synchronised swimming & diving, basketball, women's soccer, table tennis^^

Especially gymnastics, watched how graceful the girls are, combining poise & strength, with perfect balance on the beam. So amazing! Ordinary people can't even walk straight on the oh-so-narrow beam, yet they can do somersaults and land gracefully on the beam. Hehe.. That's why they are called athletes while the ordinary people are called, hmmm.. what else? Ordinary mere mortals who arent blessed with talents in the sports department.
As for the guys, i watched in awe how they performed their routines on the pommel horse and the '2 rings' --forgot the name for it. Super arm power needed.. That's why the guys are all short & 'top-heavy' --strong & big upper body but has skinny legs. Looks kinda weird actually.

Beach volleyball's another tough game to play.. Volleyball isnt easy to begin with..
Just 2 players per side, they've to do a lot of running in sand, which inhibits movement as feet will sink into the sand with each step. I love watching fast-paced games and beach volleyball's one of them =D

As for basketball, i only watched one match --China vs United States.. Hehe watch Yao Ming in action..
The American and Chinese players adopt a different style in play. The Americans have great coordination and they throw or rather hurl the basketball across the court, so they played a really fast game. As for the Chinese, they stick to the traditional dribble and passing. But dribbling wastes more time than throwing across the court, so they get lesser chances of scoring even when the ball's in their possession much of the time.

Synchronised swimming is like doing ballet in water~
Much more difficult than swimming and ballet, because they have to hold their breath for prolonged periods when carrying out their dances. Esp the beautiful 'legwork' ---dancing legs up in the air while their bodies are submerged in water.
Synchronised diving is like doing gymnastics in the air~
Do several stunts while defying gravity & making nary a big splash when they touch the water.

Watched women's soccer for the first time to see how ladies play soccer..
They are as rough as guys, yeah so there's not much difference.. 23 people with a ball in the field.. Why 23 u wonder.. Don't forget the referee ya?

Just watched 2 matches of table tennis today.
Singapore's Li Jiawei lost 2 matches, got 4th.. So sayang, getting 4th in Olympics twice.. No more medals for SG =x
But the women's team got a silver medal for the team event previously, hehe.. Can be considered a good showing then. The local sporting fraternity's celebrating!!!
As for me, i dun feel much excitement or whatsover.. I'm just happy for the trio who's going to be rich!! (You all should know what i mean??)

OLYMPICS MANIA~~
LALALA.. lalala..

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another note, saw in the newspapers today.. SAD NEWS..
Remember the hugely popular Korean drama Coffee Prince (咖啡王子1号店)?
One of the actors passed away in a traffic accident.
SAD ahhh.. 李言.. He's that guy who has a lot of brute strength, but isn't that blessed in the intelligence department. Quite foolish at times (actually it's most of the time), but that makes his character in the drama adorable and endearing to fans.

The news was really shocking.. There's cases of Korean artistes being involved in traffic accidents, like several members of the boyband Super Junior sometime ago. But this one is really serious. Actually, even the actor's friends dunno why he was riding a motorbike on that fateful day cos he dun usually do that.
Sighes..

A rather random note that one of my frens put up in his facebook~
Found it kinda interesting..
Perhaps that's because i havent written this kind of random and irrelevant prose for so long that i cant remember.. I know i used to.. Hehe.. When i got really bored, with creative juices roaring to burst out of the vast mind bank.. Overflowing with interesting ideas that may seem weird to some but meaningful to me.. Ahh.. There i go~

Here's the note: Titled 'Copycat'

I see the flurry of notes that people write. Their artistic thoughts and expressions flowing freely through their fingers and appearing as individual letters and spaces on the bright screen, yet coming together to form meaningful sentences. A tinge of envy engulfes my heart and mind like fog. I decide to stir my rusty cogs awake, and come up with my own creative, poetic, colourful note. A heavy sense of anticipation hangs in the air, as I furiously work my brain to think of what to write. Like a snake disturbed from its sleep, it slowly stirs and awakens, hostile and ready to take on any challenger of its territory. Fingers to keyboard, I type...

I am hungry.

I may not understand every single line of the abstract note, but i certainly know what the last line is trying to say. Hmm.. But i don't think one who's really hungry have enough time and energy to write such a long paragraph, i would rather spend that time to go grab a bite^^

A summary of what i'd done last week~
Hehe.. time passes so fast, i dun have much time to blog abt my life..
Just a summary will do, dun wanna 'reminisce' so much about the 'past'.. Life goes on anyway~

12/08 tue.. Can call it a day of misadventures..
Firstly, Julie, Diana and i borrowed the wrong book from the sch lib. It's amazing that the 3 of us are so blur, saw the actual book that we wanted. But since the lecturer recommended the 5th edition, we saw a few books with 'Fifth edition' on the book bind beside the actual books (of diff edition) and borrowed them. Big mistake: we didnt check the authors of the book.
I was the first to realise the mistake... *faints* Carried the heavy book home so happily, turned out to be a wrong book.

Then that day, Diana & i took bus 74 from school to Dover. It's supposedly faster than to go to Clementi station according to Diana. When i asked her where's the stop? She replied 'You'll know it cos a lot of people will alight' Alright. We chatted & chatted. I wondered why the bus ride took so long. D replied 'i took the bus before, to me it's very fast leh'
So we waited.
And waited. Something's not right la..
I asked D where are we. Her reply was just as expected 'i dunno'
I figured out that i shant ask her for further questions on directions..
Well, i looked around some road signs saw 'Lornie Road' Damnit! We are heading north!
True enough, i saw 'Marymount Road' later.. Sians.. Missed the stop long time ago le! I thought we must've missed the stop as we were too engrossed in chatting. Luckily Diana knew that the bus goes to Ang Mo Kio Ctrl, so we alighted there, where she took a bus while i took the mrt train. I reached home at 7+... When i left the school at around 4+pm. HAizzz

A few days later, i checked my long expired edition (2006) of the bus guide, it turned out that we took bus 74 from the wrong bus stop. We should've taken it from the opposite side of the road. In other words, we were wrong right from the start, yet it took me so long to realise (hmm it's my first time taking that bus and i still arent familiar with the West side since i'm a East sider ever since i was born) As for the ever-so-blur-till-it's-really-unbelievably-cute Diana... She didnt notice anything --neither on the bus nor about the wrong book borrowed (till we told her days later). *ahh.. someone pls save me from fainting*
Lol..

14/08
After a day of lessons, it's my 2nd session of salsa. I don't think i've learnt much though, the class' pace is pretty slow. Learnt only basic steps and a single turn. Sians. Plus lethargy's kicking in after a long day (cloud not only has a short attention span, she has a low energy level unfortunately) fought hard to keep up with the lesson. A bit 慢半拍though~
After class, we went to a salsa club in Amara.. Free entrance for tertiary students b4 9pm. First time go club.. Watched people dance salsa to live band. COOL! But most of the newbies didnt go to the dance floor as i believe what we learnt is barely sufficient to cover half the song. Haha..

15/08
Met Mosquito after her lessons, helped her in the making of her present for her bf. Didnt want to help initially, cos it's her bf not my bf what.. Hehe..
But she took such a long time to paste just a few pics into the mini book. Copy my idea lor! The moment i opened the book, i found similarities to the one i gave her as her birthday present. Then i saw my book in the plastic carrier, use the one i'd made as 'sample'... Hmph.. Copy also copy until so obvious, i demand intellectual copyright fees!!!!
Eventually, being the ever-so-kind Cloud, i helped her do sketches of the gifts her bf gave her.
Things that i don't even have. iPod, branded bag, flip-flops, mobile phone Disney mask... Sia la, this mosquito so bad hor? Make me jealous..
I finished the drawings relatively quick, hehe, the rest of the book is up to her to complete. I wonder when she'll complete that.
Internal joke 'How serious?? Very serious ok!' Well we shall see..

Last Saturday evening~~ After spending the day at the SFA gathering..
Went to the famous Chomp chomp hawker centre in Serangoon to have an early dinner with my family, so that we can reach home in time to catch the latter part of the National Day Parade's live telecast in tv.

I ate the fried hokkien prawn noodles, supposedly very popular and it's delicious... Yeah, it better be.. Cos if it doesnt, it wont warrant my half an hour wait for it. Oh and the sugar cane drink there comes in giant glasses. My family got a shock when they delivered one monster sized glass to our table. I merely ordered one (for myself), they didnt ask me anything (like 'upsize' or something) so i presume it's the usual versions i've seen in hawker centres. Hoots, told the woman to change it to a smaller one, but their version of a 'small' glass is still way larger than the ones that we've seen before. First time seeing such huge glasses of sugarcane juice. 大开眼界!
But food isnt the main thing i wanna blog about this time..
It's something that happened after eating.

On our way back from the hawker centre to where we'd parked our car, my family was about to cross the road at a zebra crossing. There's a nice blue Volkswagon Beetle approaching from a distance, but it's not travelling at a high speed, one would presume that the driver will slow and stop at the zebra crossing. BUT WAIT, DON'T EVER MAKE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ASSUMPTIONS!!!!!!!
I almost wanted to step out onto the road from the pavement, but i stopped short, cos i saw my dad who happened to be a step ahead of me, raising the long umbrella that he was holding (it'd been raining previously) I thought he was trying to raise the attention of the driver.
And guess what the driver did?

He drove right through the zebra crossing without stopping and the umbrella went 'KONK' as it hit the windscreen. Walau eh!!!!!! As the car drove past, i could see the bewildered expression on the passenger who's seated at the front seat, he seemed totally clueless at what was going on. Instinctively, my left hand (with the middle finger itching) was about to raise up, well.. just give me 0.3 more seconds of reaction time. DAMN IT!
The vehicle slowed to a stop a distance away from the zebra crossing, that was when we finally crossed the road. A man who was jay-walking across the road nearby saw what happened and raised & pointed his umbrella at the driver accusingly and scolded him ---while standing in the middle of the road. It was a real interesting sight, though none of my family members saw that. Later, we happened to walk along the same road as that man, and he said 'i help you scold him already'..'that driver's blind one'... Thanks arh! =p

How i wish the umbrella could smash the windscreen man!
That errant driver deserves a bashing + lashing. I didnt see his damned face, what had he been doing? Talking on the phone? Blasting loud rock music?
Realising his mistake, he didnt dare to step out of the car to demand explanation for the 'umbrella in the windscreen' incident. If he did, he will definitely get a lashing from my dad & of course, me.. i was quite angry over that blind hamster who's behind the wheel. Hello?! It's still bright out there, with my family standing along the roadside, how can it be possible for him not to see us?
Don't know the traffic rules.. at the zebra crossings, pedestrians rule.. Still dare to drive, endanger people's lives sia la!!!

Imagine, the umbrella could've been us..

Last sat's a gathering with the SFA dance people, but it's actually a surprise birthday celebrations for our dance instructor.. Some of them went to his Chinatown studio early in the morning to put up decorations~
But what attracted the most attention was the monkey that Sophie brought over secretly from the SFA studio =p

All of us gathered there switched off the lights and locked the door to give our instructor the impression that we weren't there. But in fact, we were waiting in anticipation for his arrival, each of us was holding party poppers, ready to pop them when he opened the door, while hiding at 'strategic' places. As the door's opening faced the wall leading up to a staircase, Jonathan hid behind another wall whereas several others hid above the door. Wei ren lay on the floor of the corridor facing the door so as he couldn't be seen easily. If one were to subsitute the party poppers in his hand with a rifle, he would probably look as though he's in army training.. oh minus the camouflage uniform & helmet. LOL.

I should have taken a picture then.. ahhh *regrets*

So when Derek laoshi and Yun yun jie arrived outside, Yun jie coughed loudly. Many of us stifled our laughter.. Hehehe..
He tried to open the door only to find it locked, so he opened the door using his keys. We continued WAITING~ WAITING
Once he stepped in, confetti from party poppers rained on him from out of nowhere~~

One of the first things that i rmb him saying was 'I almost wanted to call and scold people already, what time is it now? Why aren't you all here yet?' hahahahahahahhaha

So fun~
Ahh.. the food & drinks.. Each of us contributed and tadah! There's a tableful of food~

I love taking random candid pics.. Hehe..
Testing out the camera function of my Samsung u700. Just bought it the previous day~

Just point the camera (my phone) around to catch people off guard~

Then ask them for a nice pose~~

Pretty pretty!~
I like the cool looking Canon DSLR Maria's holding!

Sophie and I~

Yun yun jie is ever so cute & funny..

Testing out the black and white picture effect of my 'new' phone
It rocks!
Me with Samarx.. Maria and Angelina..

This faked lovey-dovey shot's hard to take.. yeah.. Cos both of them burst out laughing when we asked them to look at each other in the eye.. So the 'Jia yi trying to feed Herman' pose could only be maintained for a split moment, didnt manage to capture the nicest shot. Haii..

Both of them acting cool this time~
Oozing attitude^^

Gya-ing around hahahahahahha

Herman with his new wig --- made of colorful confetti.. All were picked up from the floor.. Oh well, i guess someone forgot to tell him that..

Maria and Herman doing many funny poses~~~

Some of the dancers who took an Australian jazz exam months ago received their results with accompanying certificates. They are certified dance teachers from now on~ Hehe..

I left the party earlier at almost 3pm as i'll be going out with my family for an early dinner. Shall blog about that in a later post..
Cos i wanna end this fun post on a happy note^^

08.08.08
is a real beautiful date~~

Went shopping with Mosquito in Bugis before heading to Marina Square. Bought much stuff from Bugis Village -a white watch that looks like a bangle with plastic round pieces strung together, 2 tshirts with cute prints (one shows the front and back view of one of my fav cartoon character Doraemon.. hehe.. so glad that i can squeeze into the free sized tees (cos the 'free size' in Singapore usually means S/M size... make L sized girls like me so damn sian =x) and i finally got myself a pair of slip on shoes from Faster. Cos whenever i walk past the shop, i'll look at the designs and go 'so nice!!!' hehe..

This time i decided to ask about the sizes, ignoring YW who kept saying 'it's guys one.. it's for guys one..' She's good at stereotyping neh~ Hehe.. I do wear guys' clothes and shoes, so i'll take notice of them when i go shopping. Then YW will never fail to say 'it's guys one' before walking away. Hey mosquito, don't be too quick to stereotype ok? Hehe.. Cos some girls can wear guys apparel while few guys can wear girls' apparel.
I bought the shoes in one of the smaller sizes, YW gamely tried on the smallest size, said it's comfortable but it's as though she's wearing her dad's shoe. Hehe.. that lucky girl has got small feet~

We spent most of our time shopping on level 2 of Bugis Village, YW bought a handpainted tee that she liked and wanted to buy during our prev trip to Bugis. Hehe.. She likes to say 'i'll think about it' before leaving the shop then come back if she really wants it... Whereas i'm the opposite, i see something in particular that i like, zoom in onto it & think about it for just a moment before buying or leaving the shop empty handed =p

Next stop was J Co Donuts in Bugis Junction~
Comfy sofas.. The cheapest place to 'buy' a nice nice seat in a cafe. A couple of donuts cost less than $4 and you can sit there in comfort for as long as you like until someone shoos you away^^
I prefer the donuts with fillings (like the chocolate topped donut with cappucino cream filling i ate the last time), i find the cream cheese with garlic donut that i ordered quite soggy. I prefer my donuts slightly crispy and sweet!
Looked around the cafe and saw many couples, the young indian couple sitting directly opposite us seemed to be lost in their own world, they only had eyes for each other. Hehe.. Leaving the drinks & donuts placed on the table untouched --great idea man! So that no one can shoo them away~

After that we headed to Marina Square, i havent been there for quite sometime^^
Saw campus superstar II winner 卓轩正 the moment i entered ZARA, he was standing outside the fitting room. Whereas YW only had eyes for the clothes on display and walked around and right past him without even noticing his presence. LOL.. So cock-eyed~
Turned out that he was waiting for 2 girls.. Sisters? Friends? Hehe.. Or...

I went around MS looking for the shop 'Cactus' where my new fren Eileen told me she's working at. I didnt know the existence of this shop before this~~ It has interesting & unusual products (which translates to not-so-cheap prices hehe) & the shop interiors included a catwalk-like elevated platform in the centre where people just step & walk across to get to the opposite side of the shop.

Reached home at probably 10++pm, managed to catch Team Singapore in the Olympics Opening Ceremony. The last torchbearer's segment was awe-inspiring... Got hoisted high up in the stadium and ran a whole round~~ Ordinary people would probably have fainted at such a height, much less carry the hopes of the entire nation with the whole world looking at him and lighting the giant Olympics torch of great significance.

Cloud loves watching the Olympics!~
Shall update more on that when i have time...

My sales job officially ended on friday 520pm~~
Yeahs.. the time that i've been waiting for! Ended my 23 day stint as promotor~~
Now waiting for my meagre pay to arrive..

By the way, my school term sort of started before the official date of 5 aug yesterday cos a lecturer held an additional Principles of Accts workshop on Sat morn.
I'm supposed to wake up at 6am, get out of my house at around 630-645am.
But my mom woke up at 645am to find my still sleeping cozily in my bed. She got a shock lor, so she shouted until everyone in my family could hear, '645 already! Haven't wake up! How to go to sch?!?'
I think my alarm clock didnt ring~ Whatever.. Late liao la!!!
Rushed out of my house within 15 min and planned to take a ride in my dad's car to Pasir Ris mrt station. But on second thoughts, it might be too late when i reach Clementi Mrt station. So i decided to take a cab from AMK near my dad's workplace to SIM.

I barely walked a few steps after getting off my dad's car, saw a cab approaching, hailed for it. And i'm on the road again~ That's fast~
Heez.. The cabby drove really fast, maybe he thought that i'm in a rush to attend lesson. Yah la, but dun need him to speed at 80-90 km/h one la. I heard the 'Vroom.. vroom..' engine sounds and it seemed to me that we're travelling at a high speed, so i peeked at the speedometer. The 'needle's' standing vertically, haha usually one sitting behind cant read the speedometer if the vehicle's going at a speed of let's say 60 km/h. Hoots, luckily i belted up earlier on, dun wanna be thrown about if he were to brake suddenly. The cabby's quite 'gan cheong' (alas many cabbies are like that) while waiting at the traffic light junction, he folded his arms and rested them on the steering wheel. At the first sight of the green light, he sat up straight suddenly, placed his hands back on the steering wheel immediately and proceeded to change gear with his eyes totally focused on the road. When i saw that, i was like 'woah uncle preparing to race at F1 international taxi driver special edition ah?'

I reached sch within 15min.. Wah~~ Still very early, hehe.. Thought i would be late, need to chiong down to sch.. Ended up being an early bird.

The lecture's just touching on the basics on book keeping, not that difficult for a start, but it can get a lil confusing. Aha, that's when mistakes start to occur. Debit and credit cannot balance, and then again even if it balances, it may not be correct. Hehs

Surprised to see Wei ling there!^^ We didnt know each other's studying in SIM.. Haha.. She told me Yan qi also studying there, but doing a business course. If Jiahui were to take up her banking and finance course place there, she'll be in the same course as Wei ling~ Haha.. Next time we can hold our mini Econs class gathering there~~ yippee..

Noticed someone who looks like a member of the Super band grp J 3 in the midst of students in the lecture theatre. Actually i saw him when i came at early morning, the orange-black with glittery bling-bling cap that he donned looked really striking from afar. He sat alone nearer to the back of the big LT in the corner, from my seat, i could only see his side diagonal view. With his cap pulled down, covering part of his face, i cant confirm whether it's him.. hehe.. and coincidentally, the guy he resembles wears a cap/hat throughout the competition, so it's like his trademark. Lol.. Whenever i turned to look in that direction, i see him looking down kinda thing or maybe it's his cap pulled further down to cover his face, i wondered how he see the lecturer's slides lor. Amazing hor? There's another guy in the LT who wore a cap throughout the lesson, but he tilted the cap back, looking like a refreshed sunshine boy. Haha makes me wonder what the guy who resemble the 'celeb' (i dunno how to describe that reality show contestant, cant even remember his name though he's the lead singer in the grp which entered the final 4) was trying to hide under that cap. A big fat pimple on his forehead?? LOLs..

And he's like obviously alone & plugged in earpiece to listen to music during break time, not bothering to talk to anyone. So dao1~ When he left the LT i noticed that he's carrying a big totebag, not many guys carry totebags, most of them stick to slingbags/backpacks. Quite stylo guy with nice totebag and cap, hehe not the regular nerdy loner that you usually see hiding in the corner.

After the lecture, lunch-ed with Julie at IMM, but Diana cant join us cos she's gg2 watch the NDP preview. Woo.. i also want to go... but i cant get the tickets every year! Diana turned up in a red tshirt, seemed all ready to celebrate the Singapore's birthday. Hehe.. Walked around IMM for awhile before taking the feeder bus to Boon Lay where i shopped around in Jurong Point. Hehe.. Getting myself used to the West area~~
