More and more people nowadays have weird, or rather interesting NAMES..
There's a recent article in the newspapers about this. A trio of siblings all with interesting names, each associated with earth, air and water. But as my memory has failed me, i can't remember what are the exact names.

Parents these days like to give their children unique names, hoping that they will grow up into outstanding indivivduals?

Hehs.. But what actually inspired me to do this entry is because of the number of interesting names that i have come across in the tuition centre that i'm currently working in~
Some of the names are.. Well, so unique that i've difficulty guessing the right pronounciation.

Try reading them out.. Then refer to the 'answers' below
1) Mathias 2) Deene 3) Geena 4) Lidrean 5) Axel
6) Camine 7) Josei 8) Qazzira 9) Janela 10) Ava
11) Insiyrah 12) Ashwath 13) Blyss 14) Jezer 15) Jezmark
16) Jadriean 17) Alix 18) Destin

Actually not all are difficult to pronounce, just that one will be tempted to say other words that have close similarity to the names...

For more info.. READ on~
I try to break the pronounciations up into different words
1) mer-thi-ears 2) dee-ni 3) gi-na 4) li-drian 5) axe (oh yes, the same as that fu3 tou2) 6) care-min

7) jo-seh (i bet his parents don't know japanese, cos 'josei' actually means female or woman in jap... i hope the boy wouldn't grow to be too feminine lor.. haha) 8) ka-zee-ra

9) je-ne-la (v tempted to read as jane-la hor? haha) 10) a-va (when i first wanted to call her, i was thinking which to call ah-va or a-va? but i decided on the latter as it sounded better)

11) yee-she-ra (2 other teachers of my age once laughed uncontrollably at the alternative interpretation of the girl's name --- the sounds actually resembled 'eat shit la'.. LOL what more can i say? poor little girl!) 12) ar-swath (initially i thought it's ash-wath)

13) bliss (such a sweet name wor) 14) je-zer 15) jazz-mark

16) jay-drian 17) a-lix 18) des-tin (i wonder whether the name means destiny? destiny sounds very cool, just like trinity.. i love the way it's pronounced)

Some names are really interesting and cool~~ Like Blyss and Destin
While others sound cute~ Like Deene
But some parents didnt give enough thought or do enough research when they are coming up with names for their newborns~~ Take a look at Insiyrah and the ultimately wrong name Josei. Sigh..

Cloud's last day of work on sales job on fri... the work period kept extending sia... From 2 weeks to almost a month now.

Cloud --my own unique name.. haha

Today's one of the few days that i arent working~
Attended dance training this morning, it's been 3 weeks ever since i've been there!
Afraid that i would lose the dance 'feel'
Since we did mostly technique training and not choreography, no 'feel' also nvm.. Haha..
Wanted to update my blog but cant think of what to write leh..

So i decided to do an entry that ought to have appeared a few months ago..
On Xiaogui's book!^^
Oh.. that's like so long ago, i bought his book just as it was launched.

The cover!
Designed by who else? None other than my beloved Xiao gui!

Whenever he's hosting, he's usually cladded in casual hip hop attire, t shirt and jeans. Seldom see him wear such formal clothes and do cool poses~

But of course, he wouldn't lose his wackiness & fun personality amid all those cliche nice-nice shots..
The tacky big shades and expression says it all in this picture

The single that comes with the book, limited edition..
Hehs.. So nice, since the prints on the cd blends well with the back inner cover of the book..
So nice, that i left the cd in there, till now i havent even listened to it. Oh man.. Cos i kept forgetting, when i dun see it, i dun remember it lorh..

One of the X-rays pictures he had done specially for this book.

Cos of the theme and idea behind this book.. 穿透let people see-through him.. Understand him better~ So he did it literally using X-rays.. Well, it's not too good for health to take that many x-rays.

I like this series of pictures.. Looks natural~~
But what i like most is the line in the middle of this page:
十年后当我看到这些照片,会觉得当年的我,很青春.
Yes, 10 years in a person's life is neither long nor short (depends on lifespan -if you're lucky or unlucky enough to live till 100, 10 years is just 1/10 of your life.. haha) But it can create a lot of changes, be it mentally and physically. So looking back into the past 10 years can evoke many memories (nostalgia, regrets...)

This is cute.. The bear bear is lighting up!

The life size specs which can be cut out from the page and made into a pair of shades.
Xiao gui wore it during one of his interviews on his new book.
It spurs people to think about how and why some people see the world with coloured shades.

用有色眼镜去看人 -PREJUDICE
A really powerful influence of people's thinking and directly affects their actions.

This book isn't just about nice pictures & drawings. There's inner meanings to be expressed in his drawings. That's what Xiao gui said in his introduction of the book on his show 100% Entertainment which he hosted together with Xiao zhu^^ He would prefer people to say 'oh i understand what u're trying to express' rather than the superficial comments of 'great pics u've there'
Havent watched that variety prog for 3 weeks cos of work --i miss seeing the both of them!!!
And Xiao zhu's birthday's coming up.. 30 JUL!

Haven't blogged in a week.. which means i have been away from my computer for a week!
Oh congrats! What a busy girl i have been~~

Finally earning some money after slacking my life away for months.. But wait, did i mention that i totally love my life then? Haha.. i'm a born slacker.. Not meant to be a hard worker, not suitable for tough labour-intensive jobs, destined to lead a tai-tai life? LOL..

Time passes fast when one's working almost everyday.. wake up-go to work-return home-sleep and the next day: the cycle repeats itself.. Damn sian.. I do get bored easily~

Some updates..
On friday, an impromtu outing to Changi Village for dinner with Mel, CY, Si, YW..
Went there after work, on my way there i was thinking why they chose such an ulu and out of the way place to go? Go somewhere central/town area mah~~
Strolled around the area after dinner to check out ah guas.. But probably due to the drizzle or the night's still young -10pm.. We didnt see them in action =x
Remembered during 4J's chalet (oohs.. time flies.. it's 4 years ago!) we walked to Changi Village hawker centre for supper at 2/3am and saw plenty of transvestites.. by the roadside, sitting in bus stops, there's one i saw in the convenience store -he/she had such a big butt, blocked 3/4 of the aisle just by standing sideways facing the counter to make payment, that i'd to say 'Excuse me..' and the person leaned closer to the counter so that i can pass.

On Sunday, i joined 2205 mei nvs for dinner at Bugis after work. Too bad i cant join in their 7h k-ing session at Top One. Dined at nydc cafe in Bugis Junction. Almost everyone of us ordered baked rice or pasta.. The dishes have creative names like Destiny's Child, Pigs can fly, 3 amigos (HJ and i ordered that with amazing telepathy)... But i cant say the same about the ingredients used. The dishes looked pretty much the same, baked rice and pasta looked --well, what else? Topped with cheese and baked till the cheese melted. And each 'different' dish has a certain ingredient changed. No wonder they can come up with so many items on the menu. Hehe..

I think the cheesecakes there is like quite famous. But due to the steep prices, around 6-8 bucks for a slice, i didnt order any. It's also partially cos i dunno which to order, there's more than 5 types of cheesecakes in there. I tasted QX and CY's B cube cheesecake (very cheesy), HJ's carrot cake topped with sour cream cheese (absolutely yummy!), Si's Emler chocolate cake (didnt quite get a taste of choco cos i only took a small piece), Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream (looks more like an apple pie)

Tuesday, met YW to do some shopping. She finally got her golden slippers from num. Yes, it's that place again.. Always go there. I get bored cos i arent that interested, so i focus on something else. Heheh.. There's this super-duper-uber cute guy who works in num Heeren. Woahs~ That pretty baby face of his beat the other num guys hands down. Cos many of them have buff bods and tanned complexion but lack that nice face. He'd a boy-boyish haircut, if not for his brown hair, i would have thought that he's some sec sch boy if i had seen him elsewhere. (oh yes he really look THAT young~) His name tag reads 'SKIP' it's such a special name that made me do a double take when glancing at his name tag. I suppose it's not his real name, a nickname perhaps.. like me, i used Cloud during orientation.
Maybe he loves skipping? Or he loves eating Skippy peanut butter?
Heez.. just my random guesses, forgot to ask whatsoever.

Headed to Bugis as i wanted to get some checkered prints tops before the 'season' is over and the shops stock up on other goods. I bought a black cardigan, black long shirt and 2 skinny ties, they add up to $35. That's around the cost of YW's new slippers^^ Hehe.. she bought a pair of slippers and i bought a whole lot of things with the same amount of money. So YW (i know u're reading la..) whenever u meet me, i'll be carrying some new bag, while u're stuck to that num bag of yours.. It's not because i'm richer than you. It's just how i maximise my dollar. *Take out those dollar bills and give it a stretch from left to right* -if you dare, try it!~
At your own risk..
Oh btw, i left the place without buying any checkered print tops... Hmm.. think i'll be back soon.. After i end work officially on the 30th~~

Cloud's into her 3rd week of work
Unbelievable..

Time flies real fast when one's busy working~~

More than one week into my new job as a promotor at Isetan. I'm still alive!!!!! Haha..
Stand for 7 hours everyday.. Super sian on weekday mornings & super busy on weekends~
I work from morning to late afternoon on weekdays, but Orchard's a real quiet place on weekday mornings. Only tourists bother to wake up early to do shopping. Hehe.. Heard many different languages spoken by passing shoppers, Jap, Korean (i cant really tell which is which many a times), Thai, Filipino language (i forgot what's the name), lots of unknown European languages (French? Spanish? Dutch? Italian? No idea.. Lol...)
Seen many people with quirky fashion sense, be it dressing, super high heels and stilettos. Bet Orchard's the place where one get to see the highest concentration of ladies and some young girls (sec sch girls in more mature dressing, but one can still tell they are those who try to 'act old') in heels.

I mentioned about geek chic in one of my previous post, working in Orchard enabled me to prove this point man... Haha.. I see at least 2 guys donning big black rimmed, slightly squarish spectacles, some of the more adventurous ones opted for butterfly wing type of frame or colored lenses. I can easily fish out 5 'geeks' from the crowd on a busy weekend day. Cool meh? Hip meh? I think they look damn 'dut', like some 'sua-gu'.

Oh and i saw one angmoh lady covered with butterflies --yes, literally... she tattooed similar butterflies of diff sizes on her entire left arm and left calf. OMG! I was like staring at her tattoos as she walked away. Wah.. Bet the entire tattoo cost around $6000-10000.

Hehe.. after saying so much, i haven't talked much about my job hor?
Lots of things to complain about that Isetan, cos the management there sux like hell.
The aunties who work there describe the place as the '18th level of hell', 'like prison'..
Which are kinda true cos they are quite strict when it comes to dress codes (no big dangling earrings.... HELLO?!? this is Orchard Rd, not Tuas? Why can't hip promotors don nice dangling earrings??) and the supervisors and store managers always 'jia-pa-eng-eng' (that's in hokkien btw, it means being very free after eating) walk around to check on promotors. Spot check and scan people from top to toe to make sure that u are adhering to dress code, having correct posture, cannot chit-chat with other promotors (even when there isn't a single customer in sight. HELLO?!? No customers to serve leh, also cannot talk.. We are human beings not sculptures la!)

So sian lorh~~ Stricter than school's discipline master/mistress.. Buay-tahan!
Told my boss that i don't wanna continue working after the promotion ends on this thursday. Only got to know today that the promotion is being extended to next tuesday. Alamak! Thought i can rest after working almost non-stop for 2 weeks.. Have to work for several more days. Zzzzzz... Anyway, thats cos they couldn't get another brand to conduct another promotion. The management so jialat, not only promotors don't want to work here, even clothing companies don't want to set up promotion racks here.

Shall talk more about the bad stuff about the place after i call it quits next week. Shan't talk too much, lest the fcuking management people do a blog search and my blog comes out tops in criticising them. But one can guess which Isetan in Orchard i'm talking about right? The one that suffering from poor business due to lack of human traffic after an important underpass closed years ago. If you happen to be around that area, can drop by to see me wor~~ I'm working in Level One^^

Good thing about that place is the nice aunties that i've got to know from other brands. They are helpful and friendly, that's the way at work lor. When we're busy (esp on Sats) the auntie working opposite will help us to put the clothes we took back from the fitting room back on the racks when they arent busy. How nice^^
My partner's younger than me, though she has more than a year of sales experience working for another brand.. We can be on the same 'frequency' cos of our minimum age gap~~ So can chit-chat.. And that's why we got caught for chatting and the store manager informed our boss. Walau eh! Darn suay!
Lucky my boss is kind lor, tell us to scan left and right when chatting to avoid being detected. Told us to keep a low profile these few days to avoid further complaints. Hehe, even my boss who pays my salary don't mind us chatting during work as there isn't customers/shoppers around. Then why on earth are those supervisors and store managers kao-pehing?
Nothing better to do????? Jia-pa-eng-eng arh!!!

Shall update the next time when i have time to come online. Hmm.. the previous time i touched my computer was on my offday last monday.. The next offday's this coming Sat, took leave specially to celebrate my brother's birthday =p

Till then, jah-neh! Ciao!

2 july.. Met up with Sky~~

Haven't seen her for so long!!! Same goes for Clover.. Too bad Clover's working on weekdays so she couldn't join us..

Watched the the Kungfu Panda --wanted to watch 'Get Smart' of 'Wanted' but friends who had watched them said these 2 aren't worth watching.
Used the free pair of movie tickets i've got from a contest to give Sky a movie treat.. Hehe..

That's the EW movie gift card.. When i first tore open the letter & opened the gift card, i almost fainted. Wahlau eh.. i just want to watch movie leh, dun have to state so many terms and conditions as to how to use the card and blah blah blahs.. -see those teenyweeny fine print.. How much i hate them, though they're extremely important.

Thought many people had already watched Kungfu Panda, cos it has been showing for a month. But Sky had been in Japan for 9 days & spent 2 days in Shanghai in transit... So she hadn't watched the movie too! =p
Free and easy Tokyo/Kyoto trip.. all on her own... I admire her courage man! *u go gal!*
If it were me, i will be darn worried about losing my way in the subways (hey it rhymes! cos Japan's subway systems one of the most developed in the world) and the language barrier makes navigating much more difficult.

Thanks Sky for helping me 'import' 2 japanese magazines with KAT-TUN on the cover^^ I sms her while she's in kyoto and she got them for me on the very next day (^o^) Too bad she couldn't find any with NEWS on the cover. But nvm, Yamapi lives in my heart... (awww....)

Before the movie, we shopped around the area, first time entering the 'My Playground' section of Suntec City.. really can't remember myself setting foot in that place before.
There's a shop selling Japanese manga & anime related stuff, with cosplay costumes for rent. But those costumes seem to be of poor quality.. The uniforms dun quite resemble the originals we see in mangas & drama adaption of mangas. The area's pretty quiet, probably due to it's inaccessibity~ The salesman got so used to having no walk-in customers that he's doing chin-ups using the fitting room curtain bar when Sky first entered the shop. He continued doing quite a few, until i walked in and i think i made more noise than Sky, so he noticed me & leapt off the bar. Haha.. Funny guy, waiting to enlist in army perhaps?

The movie's super cute.. Short but sweet.. I love the animations of the animals. Be it the fat adorable 'never-say-die' panda, pigs, geeses, raccoon, tigers, old tortoise...

The most interesting part of this movie trip is that ----we seemed to have booked the entire theatre. When we entered the dark hall 5min prior to the start of the movie, we got a rude shock! Why the hell the entire hall is so dark and empty??? Not a single soul in sight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! We've a hard time finding our seats as it's really dark inside~~
After awhile, a girl and her father/uncle walked in, Sky asked me 'Hey, did u see those 2 people?' I replied Yes... But on hindsight, maybe i should say 'Where? I didnt see anyone leh.'

Wanna see Sky's reaction man... hahahahahah *evil grins*
So there's only 4 of us watching the 1pm show!! Woahs.. First time watching a movie in such an empty theatre.

After the movie, Sky rushed off to teach tuition.. She wanted to take a photo of me in my jap sch girl style outfit.. or maybe just my backview.. Cos my face don't look japanese at all (>.<) Sighes..

So i tried to zipai with the aid of the washroom mirror..

Not very nice, but heck care la.. I like my outfit~~ Sky loves it too... Actually, I thought that she would dress in a more jap style after her stay in Japan *influence?*, but no leh... She still dresses the same way =D

After leaving Suntec, I dropped by Marina Square. While walking along the bridge above CityLink linking to Marina Square, i saw 2 japanese looking guys (quite cool looking with those jap boyband hairstyles & layered dressing)
Me: Thinking... Hmm.. nice!
Then Guy A looked outside and said 'It's raining.' Guy B replied 'WALAU EH!'
Me: Thinking.. Aiya.. Chey!
S'porean guys with good dress sense, not easy to find on the streets.

Cloud wants to go JAPAN...
DEFINITELY~
In future.. Not possible to go now.. Cos no $$$.. (>.<)

Hadn't been in touch with many of my jc mates over the past half a year, don't even know where most of them are going~

Got to know Li si's been attending culinary school only through the newspapers --she got interviewed in The Sunday Times last week..
Getting to know more about your friend's updates through the newspapers... hmm.. sounds kinda sad~ Really lost touch le~~ Sighes..
That's how people drift apart gradually i guess, the same applies to my sec sch mates too..

And that Yi-an came to Singapore after studying in Taiwan for so so long... never tell me earlier lorh.. Haiz.. We could've arrange to meet up, but now i've already started my new job, it wouldn't be possible for these 2 weeks =x

Ohh and in reply to the tagboard question (guest: do i know u? haha if not may i know u?)
I'm going to study Accounting & Finance =p

Orientation day @ SIM

Met up with new friends Julie and Diana before heading to the LT for orientation. Saw many people early birds lining the corridor and we walked to the end of the corridor to look for some empty space to stand and wait. But as we reached the end of the corridor, one of the seniors said 'It's ready and opened the door for us to enter' Hehehehe.. we became the earliest to get in there, though we arent that early actually. So we became part of OG 1 and got to know 23 others from the UOL programme.

Started with icebreakers.. Obviously... Haha.. Starting by saying your own name and naming a food/fruit that starts with the same letter. My name starts with X. So cool, there isnt any food/fruit that i can think of. I introduced myself as Cloud, easy to remember~~
Then there comes the 'killer game' start with the first lucky girl/guy saying his/her name, the 2nd person has to repeat the 1st person's name before saying his/her name... the game goes on for the next 20 odd people. I was one of the first to say.. Phews!!!
My memory isnt that good, cant remember more than 20 names all at once, especially the chinese names. Can mess them up easily.. and our og has 3 girls whose names start with 'Shu' and 2 girls with names that start with 'Li'

Later in the day, a few OGmates asked me whether Cloud's my real name. haha.. they were wondering which parent so cool, give their daughter this name & guessed that my name has a yun2 in it. (yun2 sounds the same as cloud in mandarin, though my name isn't written in the same manner)

Noticed 4 ex tee jay cee girls there. But i can only remember the names of 2 of them. They are the more popular girls in school hehe.. Shall talk to them if i get the chance..

After lunch, we visited student interest groups and clubs fair.. Couldn't find the booth for Dance Club, only see Salsa Club. Diana expressed interest in signing up & Micheline and i also wrote down own contacts on the list. Julie's surprised that Diana's the first to suggest signing up. Hmm.. see how when we go for beginner classes =p Micheline and i prefer street style dances though, but i think there's no harm trying out salsa~

Then it's station games, made us go up and down around the school, but the OGLs didnt introduce where is what and stuff. So when sch term starts, we'll still be blur when it comes to finding LTs and other places.
Final game of the day's dodgeball takes place in the hall. They've got Ikea bought pillows replace balls.. Hehe.. So as to minimise injury i guess. So it looks like some form of pillow fight..
Somehow I threw the pillows in the frisbee way, managed to hit many in the opposing OG. Either it's because i am good at throwing pillows or those in that OG dunno how to 'siam' or dodge. Haha.. but some of them arent that honest, didnt get out of court after being hit.
So we actually thought our OG lost lorh~~
Eventually we won 18-12.. Hehe..

We not only won that OG, we ended up being the TOP SCORING OG~ Wahhhh! So we are the 'winning team' that's supposed to face off with the OGL team and Titans team (all seniors la) in a much larger court & there's no time limit to the game.
The whole OG has to play and try to eliminate the OGL team, then the Titans team will come in.. That's when we can start to attack the 'King' who's seated in the centre of the back of the court behind the Titans. That will effectively end the game^^ But of course, the King has a Wife with invisible hands to protect the King by warding off all invading pillows.

After all OGLs were eliminated (our OGs good man!), my OG has about 5 or so people left and they allowed 5 others to join in... hehe if not we sure lose liao la, have to 'fight' so many Titans. I volunteered to be one of the 5, cos i like throwing pillows =D
Oh yeah, i've gotten hit on the leg in the 1st part of the final game, suay la... didnt manage to jump higher when i was pelted with 4 or 5 pillows consecutively by an OGL. Busy jumping around, managed to dodge many pillows... until that final one.. Hehs.. Never mind, i'm BACK in the final round.
I cant throw that well cos the court's much bigger and the pillows often go 'off-course' haha..

Every other OGs sat by the court to watch us.. I think i must have looked like some idiot jumping around to dodge pillows during the game (once any part of our body touch a flying pillow, we are considered eliminated) Heck care la, i dunno anyone other than people in my OG, so there's no need to be paiseh... Hahahahahahahah..
Thanks to Walter who threw a pillow at such a high speed (so fast, i didnt even see) and it smacked right onto the king's chest. WOAH! Climatic ending sia!!! WE WON THE GAME!

CHAMPIONS of Freshman Orientation Day~ OG 1!!!

But no presents for winning leh..
I was half expecting some little gifts or chocolates or something.
Woots.. I spent 'so much' energy dodging... Should give us some energy boost^^

After leaving SIM, i went to BY's new house in Clementi.. It's just nearby..
She's so kind to help me dl KAT-TUN's new album and dvd^^
She showed me the pictures taken while she was on holiday with her family in april to Tokyo --to see spring sakura blossoms. So beautiful sakuras everywhere along the streets of Tokyo!!!Lucky girl!~

So i reached home at about 10+pm. Travelling from west to east...
It's gotta be a habit for the next 3 years~~
