Beatboxing. Breakdance. Hiphop. Salsa.

Hehe.. I did that all within a day!
Lalala~ It was really fun yesterday at my dance laoshi's new dance studio, we were there to 'fill spaces' just in case the trial classes held by the new instructors he recruited become 'leng chang' and it will be kinda embarrassing. Free trial lessons yet nobody came. But it wasnt the case as those dance instructors also brought along their own students.

Beatboxing.
I love this.
Brea K Ah Ah K Ah K Ah Ah
B T K B T B T K

Key:
Brea read as Breath, K as ke, T as tse, B as boots (can sound really funny if done wrongly)
Others include C as click (roof of mouth using tongue), Pff..
Learnt just these few, but it's really fun.. though i cant really open my mouth due to the teeth extraction 2 days ago...Argh! Pain. pain pain.

Breakdance & hip hop was taught by the same pro instructor Larry. Heard from laoshi that he's a regular competitor cum winner (of course! could guess it after seeing his demostration after the class) in various breakdancing competitions. Basic breakdancing steps arent very difficult, the thing is, how to execute the movements & steps in a swift manner according to the beat. Gotta move a whole lot faster.

Hiphop's style does suit me... Just groove along, if i happen to miss/forget some steps, can skip it totally & one wont look that much out of sync (provided u get the ending pose right), unlike in contemporary dance that i'm learning now. Hehe.. Hiphop's more freestyle. less rigidity.

Reggae came right after hiphop, initially i wanted to continue, but the dance floor was getting a lil too crowded. It was already packed during hiphop lesson that we kept hitting each other while dancing. Moreover the reggae instructor brought along a grp of his students, so all of us 'siamed' out. This genre may seem alien to some, actually me too (think Rainie yang's 'ren yi men' which had some reggae elements infused into it) The dance routine looked fun, lots of body waves kinda thing, need to know how to shake & twist (should be easier than breaking/bboying & jazz -for me that is) The dance instructor was really passionate about his dancing, or maybe too passionate (quoting Samarx) cos he's very DIVA-like. Yeah.. Kinda GYA. Lol. From dressing to the way he talked, danced & moved. Ace & Herman were imitating his dance moves & the funny sounds he made as he really enjoyed & was totally engrossed in the dance. Gosh! Those 2 guys did a great job in imitating that i couldnt stifle my laughter as all of us stood at the side to watch how the instructor taught.

Salsa was after reggae, my dance laoshi knew that those reggae students brought in by the reggae instructor will leave so he asked many of us to join in. True enough, the class became smaller & there were mostly our 'own people'. Basic salsa steps arent difficult, i was just scared that i'd step on some poor guy's feet as some of them didnt wear shoes. We stood in a circle and the guys will move in one direction, so we kept rotating partners. Watching salsa instructors Jerrine (correct spelling?) and Jason do a impromtu performance after the class was awesome!

Impromptu class after salsa by shigong, hehe my laoshi's laoshi, so my laoshi (he wanted us to call him that hehe though it made him sound like a chinese teacher) said we should call him shigong. I could recognise him as he had cameos in local tv drama serials, hehe Ming2 Xin1 orh!~
Man, his lesson was similar but tougher than laoshi's, really deserve the honour of shigong.
Leaping, spinning, splits... All these all so tough for someone without dance background like me.
He intended it to be a half an hour lesson which stretched to an hour without him knowing it & he said to my laoshi 'Wow so late already, how come didnt ask me to stop?' hehe i didnt catch laoshi's reply.

Left the studio in Chinatown at arnd 1030pm, reached home at almost 12am. Hehe.. Slightly later than friday, i was at the dance studio that day too. Attended the singing technique class though i cant sing on that day and sat at the side to watch the jazz & ballet classes as i couldnt participate in vigorous activities/exercise a day after teeth extraction. But i was itching to dance... so i joined in on Saturday despite the discomfort in my mouth. And surprise! I survived beatboxing class ^o^v

Outing with the girls on CHRISTMAS day~

The 5 mei nvs: Cindy, Sam, XZ, LS, Me!

We had a long lunch at New York New York in CityLink, while we waited for Ling shan to arrive. Surprised to see Xin an, Sebastian, Qien, Angelina, Huimin there too hehe.. but they didnt see me as they were walking into the restaurant, so i went over to say 'Hi!'

Shan jie finally arrived.. 1hour later.. Cindy & Sam had a 2nd order, chocolate ice cream on crispy brown waffle with alternate 'cubes' filled with chocolate. There's a mini jug of maple syrup which Cindy poured over those cubes on the waffles without chocolate sauce. So it was really really sweet.. oohs.. Chocolate ice cream + chocolate sauce + maple syrup all in one mouthful that Cindy fed me. Of course i arent the only one who enjoy this privilege.. Shan jie also enjoyed a mouthful. Evidence? See above.

Xmas tree in Marina Square.. Sam & LS 'hugging' the tree... Notice that 'DANGER. High Voltage' sign.. hehe, so i asked them not to touch the tree while posing for this pic for the most obvious reason.

The last but not the least is... ME!
Lol..
Took a pic with this giant blonde bombshell, i actually wanted to do a different pose, but on hindsight.. it may be a bit hurhur NC16, so i settled for the oh-so-boring universally popular V sign.. I arent too sure of the exact origins though.
Cloud enjoyed spending christmas with the girls~

On Christmas Eve, i went to Orchard Road with my family.
Lol.
Not that crowded Orchard Road.. But this one in Botanical Gardens..
The real Orchard loh.. that one that we always go to is no longer warrants the name 'Orchard' cos it's all buildings there.

Desert area in Botanical Gdns

Giant lily.. woolala~ Really HUGE i would say

My dad.. being funny.. hehe.. I dunno wats that fruit.. Looks vaguely like taiwanese sausage~ *drools*
TAKE 1

TAKE 2

Solitary tree says: Do u feel my loneliness being the only one up here?
Reminds me of the saying which goes something like: Those right at the peak/top will be lonely, as there will be few people of the same calibre who can reach that same stage.

A woman fed some bread to the swan to 'lure' it closer to the side of the pond so her husband could take pictures of it. That greedy swan ate loads of bread, so she kept feeding... Until fishes & tortoises swam forward to kope bread too.

Graceful swan swimming/cruising

Swan lovers in the lake.. Lol.. Rare sight!
Due to limitations of my camera (low shutter speed) i couldnt capture 'THE MOMENT' where their heads meet & form a HEART shape. Cos the 2 swans' heads kept moving back & forth as though they were talking to each other.

Take out a $5 note.. flip over and u will see an image of this tree
Notice that unique extended low branch that characterizes the tree

Ducks that i happen to see by the lake... they look kinda fake when they're keeping still..

2205 outing with the girls
Not that we didnt invite the guys (3 only) but ZZ who turned up at every single outing was in China then & he cheekily replied Simin 'Alright see u in China!' when she informed everyone of the gathering. As for YS, he hadnt turned up at a single gathering at all, so i dun think anyone expected him to come anyway lol.

Some of whom i havent seen in more than 2 years
Nevertheless, still as cute & chirpy..
Dined at Sushi Don in Dhoby Ghaut, i didnt eat cos i cant really munch/chew so i had a mango smoothie which tasted so frosty. Simin & Lee hui's verbal exchanges were very entertaining^^ both of them are good at suan-ing & dug up their pri sch stuff. LH was a prefect and had booked SM on several occasions, wow they still remembered after all these years.. Hohoh... The jap food set meals looked nice, hmm i shall try them out when i can eat properly.. provided i can find that place, hehe i have never been on that street before.
Wanted to head to Starbucks at Cathay but it was full so we settled for Ben & Jerry's..
Took the above pic in front of the Christmas tree in Cathay (cant see much of the background tho.. hehe thanks to that guy who took the pic for us, i wondered if he was from tee jay, as i could only recognise his tall tall friend as a former tee jay bballer)
Another pic at Ben & Jerry's (Cindy's missing from the pic & Steph's face was blocked -thanks to the table of guys sitting next to us.. asked one to help us take pic, he 'arrowed' Friend A to help saying he sux at taking pics, then his supposedly more pro fren tried very hard [his actions were so funny, moving backwards inch by inch.. i just laughed instead of smile for the camera] to get everyone in the frame, without realising the camera strap was hanging right in front of the lenses *faints* Until Friend B pointed it out to him. Then Friend A 'wave white flag' and asked Friend B to take the pic. Haix.. Friend B took the pic quickly & without cueing)
The result?? See below
Well.. i know they've tried their best, what more can we ask for? Hehe

Cloud had a fun day out with the girls~

BELATED BIRTHDAY WISH to..

Clover aka Jas whose bday's on 22dec, i wasnt online for a couple of days, so didnt have time to post it here
Better late than never..

PULAU UBIN TRIP

Spent a day in Pulau Ubin today with 2 aunts, uncle's family with 2 young energetic cousins who are forever bouncing and running around... Since it's a public holiday, there were many people heading to the island too. BUT... The downpour in the morning was a real spirit damper =x
Cant cycle cos of the real damn slippery roads & paths.. So ended up walking for hours on the island to go to the Mamam beach, Chek Jawa, a very old house which my parents took their wedding photos at...

A fireplace in the very old house (100years old??)
So called 'ang moh chu' cos it was built & owned by some angmohs in the past

I like the reflections on the wet ground of the bridge.. and btw that's my tall & thin brother^^

Photos taken at Chek Jawa

Mangrove swamp~

Bird's eye view of the wooden path
Shot from the top of a 5 storey tower.. Not bad right? Can feel the ulu-ness of the island

WET wet narrow dirt tracks.. If there were vehicles, those people on foot got to duck aside & step into the sandy/rocky side of the road. So when around 10 vans drove past us, ferrying more than a 100 visitors on a trip to Chek Jawa organised by some tampines CC, it was really irritating.
Many many years ago, when i was young (not so many years actually, i arent that old hehe.. but u get my point?) most of the roads on Pulau Ubin were like these. Nowadays there are so many tar roads, so smooth so nice for travel, but i felt that some of the rustic charm was somehow lost in the process. In the name of development. Yeah whatever.

Old disused quarry. Accumulating rainwater over the years. When i was young i could still go to the foot of the quarry and SEE the water. I remembered throwing stones into the water then. Now, the water is like duno how many storeys deep, so the area's cordoned off (to prevent any idiots from swimming in it.. well my cousin actually dived into it with his friends years back -buay3 kia1 see4 ah!) and one can only catch a glimpse of it behind a fence.

A bird!
Perched on a structure that was built to prevent illegal immigrants from coming into the river from Malaysia via boats
Destroys the scenic sea view from one of the beaches. In the name of security & safety. Well.. Those arent entirely foolproof though.

Going back to Singapore!
It's another island, but the environment is much different.

Taken while i was sitting in my uncle's bumboat... the trailing waves generated by the boat.. i was kinda fascinated by this when i was young.

My smiling uncle and his bumboat which was formerly my beloved grandpa's..
He left it to my dad, who later gave it to my uncle.
I miss my grandpa!!

Haven't blogged for awhile, had been kinda busy.. Keke..
Passed my Basic Theory Test 3 days ago^^
Starting driving lessons this week~ busy busy..

This morning i went to the dentist near my house for teeth extraction, gotta extract 4 teeth + 2 wisdom teeth =x cos of overcrowding -small jaw and not-so-small teeth
Extracted 2 teeth at one go.. Those 2 teeth are quite long & hard -quoting dentist's comments
Hehe.. I think that's because i'm a super duper fan of milk, hehe so i have lotsa calcium to build strong teeth =)
But when it comes to teeth extraction then... errmmm difficult & though i couldnt feel the pain during the procedure cos i was under anaesthesia (how to spell?) i could feel the pressure exerted.. The dentist tried to loosen the tooth by rotating & my head followed the rotation too. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..
Shortly after getting out of the dental clinic, i felt giddy (due to blood loss?) & sat down on a chair outside one of the shops along the way. Oh man! I realised i cant walk home in this state. My mum decided to help me back to the clinic to rest awhile before heading home. I felt really unwell & guess what.. i vomited.. Oops! I dont really know why.. I ate a hearty breakfast (as usual) as i knew i wont be able to eat for the rest of the day & perhaps a few more days. Was it because of that?? Hmm.. i wonder.. but after puking all out (mostly water.. but it really stinks.. yucks i hadnt puked in ages), i felt better.
So paiseh loh... dirtied the place. My mum & the dental assistant cleaned up the place while the rest of the patients 'siamed' and sat outside the clinic instead.
Luckily my mum's friend was nearby & when she saw my ashen faced, she asked her husband to fetch us home in their car before making a detour back to their house. How nice~

NOW:
feeling much better le.. ate painkillers given so i cant feel the pain for the timebeing but having an emptiness in my mouth is kinda weird. Gotta extract another 2 teeth next week. Brrr.. Shant eat a lot for breakfast before coming.. well.. i cant eat properly anyway~

Chalet @ Sentosa

Costa Sands resort at night.. taken from my chalet unit's window~
Spent 3D/2N there with my family..

DAY 1
Rain, rain, rain and more rain... A child was screaming 'Rain, Stop! Rain, Stop stop stop!!!' in the lobby of the chalet. Rain douses the spirits of all holiday-goers. So sian...
Did nothing much on that day except for watching 'Gong zhu xiao mei' on youtube using the computer in the chalet's lobby.

DAY 2
Drizzling. But at least it was better than the heavy downpour yesterday. Took the beach tram & 'toured' the beaches. As it was still raining, the beaches were quite empty. Major part of Siloso Beach's cordoned off in preparation for ZoukOut on 8th (one day after i left Sentosa, 23000 people swarmed there to party.. lol)
Went swimming at noon..sounds pretty crazy eh?! But the weather's so nice for a dip in the pool, just a lil chilly.. hehe.. It was like swimming in rainwater^^ oohs (so much rain diluted the chlorine water in the pool) so glad that i didnt reek of chlorine after getting out of the pool.
Night time, went to watch Songs Of The Sea performance with my parents as my bro already left Sentosa for Malaysia in the morning for a trip to a resort there with loads of his univ frens.

Beautiful sight! But a $6 ticket to watch the half hr show's a lil expensive, or maybe i got used to the old free-for-all Musical Fountain performances which were kinda similar to Songs Of the Sea's. Though this is better than another new attraction on Sentosa. 4D Magix $16 for a 15min show *faints*
More beautiful lights & water jetsprays.. of course there were also animals created using laser light beams, which don't look good in pictures. Just in case u couldnt tell.. hehe.. that's a dragon which can talk over there.

Climax: Ending part of the show, there were fireworks across the sky above.
It was so fast i couldnt catch it on camera.. hehe.. what i'd got is merely the remnants of those once glorious fireworks that eventually faded into the night sky.

LUGE & Skyride

A pic koped off the google~ hehe.. i didnt bring my camera up. Too dangerous (dun risk dropping it into the 'wilderness') and too dark to take gd shots.
My legs were dangling at least 10 storeys up high in the air.. Woots.. Wasnt too comfortable initially as i wasnt used to the height yet. High above the trees, the ride offered a nice view of the night lights over the opposite coast. It was darn COLD & WINDY up there. Took the ride with my dad who's afraid of heights.. hehe.. ironically he was the one who suggested going for the rides. He didnt realise it was going to be so high and said he didnt look below us during the ride and told me not to. But i kept looking down and said 'Wow.. so high orh..' Lol. I didnt inherit the phobia~ The troublesome thing was: i was wearing slippers then and had to keep both feet upright, if not my beautiful slippers will become killer litter =x

After taking the skyride uphill, we rode the luge (how to read this word??) down the slope.
The luge is like a go-kart, but it's much easier to manoeuvre as it can only go downslope with the help of gravitational pull, it can't move on it's own (no engine)
Zooming downslope was really FUN! lalala~ I LOVE SPEED!
Dad & i bought tickets for 2 rides cos of the 'Buy 1 get 1 free' promotion hehe.. So 2nd ride's free! 2nd time on the skyride seems short, as we'd gotten used to the height. 2nd time on the luge, zooming all the way as i was more familiar with the track =)

OOHS! Finally did something fun on Sentosa~
Night: Random loud blasts of 'thomp thomp thomp' type of heart-thumping music could be heard from my chalet which is near Siloso Beach. Guess the technicians were testing the audio system over there. I think we neednt sleep if we're still staying there on the 8th. Lol. More than 12h of revelry=unimaginably high noise levels
My dad wanted to book the 7-10th slot using the chalet website initially, but the last slot(s) were taken up as he spent a longggg time reading through the terms and conditons online. Dots. But on hindsight, it may be a good thing hehe.
DAY 3
Swam in the morning before checking out.
Went to Maxwell Food Ctr for an early lunch at 11am. Ate western food from 'Edmund's Corner' AMAZING! We ordered Grilled fish with lemon sauce, Hawaiian Chicken Chop and Mexican Chicken Chop and all 3 orders arrived together. Gd! My grilled fish with cheesy lemon sauce.. Woowa! My fav cheese~ Served with mashed potato (looking like a scoop of ice cream on my plate), garlic toast, baked beans and coleslaw. I can only describe it here as it looked so delicious, i forgot to snap a picture of the dishes before tucking in then.
The young chef emerge from his stall and asked for comments when he saw that we'd finished our meals (we sat just outside of the stall) I was taken by surprise and merely said 'Nice!' as i din prepare any comments. Hehe. He went on to talk about 2 dishes which are more special i guess, Hawaiian & Mexican Chicken Chop. He said he put the pineapple slices on top of the chicken chop to grill for the juices to seep into the tender meat so it took longer to prepare the Hawaiian Chicken chop. As for Mexican Chicken chop, i didnt quite catch the terms he used.. Sorry ah! Cloud cant cook western food so some culinary terms & alien sounding ingredients are like Greek to me. He added that he'll be revising his menu & introducing new dishes next year. Hehe i'm certainly looking forward to that^^
I'm impressed by this earnest chef (shall call him this instead of hawker) cos he really takes pride in his work/creations. Starkly different from the average sulky faced uncle/auntie who barely acknowledge/appreciates it when you order food from them. Drop by that stall if u're in that area orh.. Really v nice and worth the $$$ Chicken Chop for $4.50 & Grilled fish for $5.50 there are also other dishes like spagehetti & other pasta (i dunno how to spell those angmoh names)

That marks the end of my 3 days of 'holidaying' without leaving the country~

Cloud's going for braces soon!~
Nothing to be excited about actually. Sure damn pain one loh! Plus can't eat properly and stuff like that. Troublesome..
The dentist inserted some separators (little rubber bands) into 4 of my teeth to create space for insertion of a metal ring around each of the teeth. But within one hour, one of the separators broke while i was eating baguette dipped in curry =x Oops! Hehe.. Must chew/munch/eat carefully from now on, if not i don't think those separators can remain intact in my mouth for a week~

Cos braces involve extraction of teeth -i need to extract 4 teeth + 2 wisdom teeth
I can't look for employment now.. Sians.. I just rejected an interview tomorrow morning cos i can only start work a few weeks later, which effectively mean next year la.. Can tell the person at the job agency is a bit bu shuang with me for not saying so earlier (cos not confirmed yet).. Hehe.. maybe next year i go find job at another agency ba~

This week gotta be a busy week... Go out every single day hehe i'll be going IMM later in the afternoon, then i'll be out of mainland Singapore for 3 days (in Sentosa) for chalet. Don't miss me too much! Lol.. Then i'll be kept busy during the weekend preparing someone's present (can't say who for now) and going K-ing with my tee jay friends =)
Won't be blogging soon..

Cloud's a busy gal =p

Central @ Clarke Quay

First trip there today with Xiuzhen & Yuwen the mosquito.. hehe kept going out with mosquito like every fri during these few weeks & now.. we met up on Sunday. Guess we just arent sick of each other =p

Below: Mosquito overslept or sth so both of them were late. I arrived much earlier at Central the shopping mall, shopped around the 'leng qing' mall & when i got bored, i came out of the mall to take pictures to kill time. Lol. Can u tell which is the glass ceiling & which is the glass wall panels?? Hehe.. Hint: See the reflections.
Photo princess at work~

When they eventually came... Of course i couldnt possibly give up the opportunity to take pics with the colorful shophouses along the river in the background.

First time i have seen ice skating performance in a shopping mall! Hehe..
These performers are Australian champions and some of them look younger than me. Especially the guys as one cant really tell the age of the girls when their faces were caked with makeup.

Nice poses!! ^^ How i wish i know how to ice skate!
These pros make ice skating look darn easy. They can Dance, Prance, Glide around smoothly & gracefully. Hmph.. i can hardly glide properly and (keyword) gracefully on ice.

After watching the amazing display of ice skating, we went to Manhattan Fish Market to have our lunch. Mosquito kept saying she's hungry~

While waiting for our meals to come.. hehe.. What's wrong with me(us) & reflections these days??
I ordered Alaskan Pollock (a fish) and chips while the both of them ordered Manhattan Fish & chips. There isn't much difference in the looks & taste if it, but mine is slightly more expensive. Well.. well.. Alaska & Manhattan arent exactly near each other but somehow the fish taste the same when they're being fried. Yeah the fish & fries were all fried food, so it was an unhealthy meal, xz & i finished our meal yet the self-proclaimed hungry yw had problems finishing the meal.

Newscaster Miss Tay!
Her pose really make her look like a professional newscaster.. lol

Let me introduce the best classic shot of the day.
I really like this one!
I saw this print of 2 long legs on the wall & *tink* (light bulb brighten) i thought of this photo idea & asked yw to strike that pose for me. Tho she was hesitant at first, cos the idea seemed funny to her, i was insistent & tadah! The result: Not bad right?! hehe

2 former members of tee jay Chinese calligraphy society posing in front of a chinese ink painting. i hadnt done an ink painting in a long long while. Actually yw was a chinese calligraphy club member in jay cee too.. hehe..

3 of us took a shuttle bus from Central to Raffles Place, but somehow this service was severely underutilised. Only the 3 of us took that bus.. Wow! As though we booked the whole bus kays?!
I think that was because the shuttle bus services weren't well publicised, we only saw a poster of it near an exit of the mall, without stating the timings of the shuttle buses & the locations of the pick-up points were really ambiguous. Like 'Opposite The Aldephedi' ( i dunno the exact spelling cos i dun know what word is that & where on earth is that place) So when i enquired at the info counter, the lady just told me, just wait outside of the mall at the stairs there. A simple yet straightforward answer, 100 times better than saying opp the XXXX. When we were outside there wasn't any signs or queues indicating the pickup point of the shuttle service. Hmm so it isn't too surprising that we can 'bao1' the bus right? Nobody knows of it i guess.

Standing TALL (i look v tall in this photo) in Raffles Place, on weekdays this area is always buzzing with activity & we often see drama serials being filmed here, with the actors walking along this stretch while they are looking for a job or sth.

Monkeying around the golden letters of OUB.. haha.. My new facebook profile photo~

Cloud had a fun day out with the girls.. haha.. but there isn't much to see/shop in Central except for the Japanese supermarket which sells a whole lot of Japanese snacks & drinks (expensive tho.. but i still bought a bottle of milk tea -packed in an aluminium bottle.. so cute!) and numerous Japanese restaurants all over the mall.
