2008's a leap year!!!!

Wow! Once in 4 years, what a rare occasion..
Wanna wish my dear friend Weiqi a happy 'official 5th' birthday cos she hardly gets to celebrate her birthday (for the obvious reason)
Congratulations! You are 'one' year older!
And also my pri sch friend Isaac who's either lucky or unlucky to be born on this day 20 years ago (lucky or not depends on how u see it)
I'd already lost contact with him since we graduated, but i could still remember how excited he was when he gave out birthday party invitation cards. Lol..

Today's a special day.. i received 2 mails by courier service.. the first one came in the morning i guess, my dad put the mail from NTU business school right in front of me when i was eating my breakfast. Sch of Business so rich wor? Use courier service to deliver to our doorsteps.
The 2nd one's more special, my mum had to sign for it cos i wasnt at home (out on a marathon shopping trip with Yuwen)
It's my driving licence!!!!!!! Yeah finally received the photocard after almost 1 month.

BACK topic on leap year...
There's this local movie called 'The Leap Years' i think... spanning a total of 24 years kinda thing..
I don't watch local movies in cinemas, since the reviews of this movie arent that fantastic, i dont intend to catch it either.. Who cares what the movie's slogan/adv catchphrase says something like 'it's once every 4 years, if u dont catch it now then when?'

SuperPoke on Facebook also came up with a nice poke..
I shall come up with my own too~
'Xuan has leapt the year with everyone who reads my blog'

happy LEAPING!
never mind if that make us sound like froggies..
at least we had fun~

Are you as happy as your dog?

An attention grabbing title... but i arent the one who came out with this innovative thought/idea.
It came from a book that i'd just read. Very interesting book i would say, so i shall share some parts of the easy-reading book here^^

It starts something like this:
I met a man who told me, 'For years i was so miserable that i prayed to God daily to let me wake up as happy as ,my dog!'
I went home & thought about it. Hmmm...
I began to observe my dog Munchie who is happy all the time. It became clear to me that Munchie knew something that i didnt know (or at least cant rmb) So i decided to study Munchie's attitude to see what he was doing that i was missing.

BE HERE NOW
-Munchie is fully present, whatever he's doing. He has no sense of the past or future. You'll not find him at a local bar nursing a beer over lost love. He has no lost love. He loves whatever is before him.

SEIZE THE DAY
-Munchie regularly shows up at my front door asking to come in and play with me. Sometimes, i let him in. The moment i open the door, he charges in. He doesnt give me a moment to change my mind. He knows what he wants, asks for it, seizes his opportunity the moment it's offered. Munchie is a master of Carpe Diem.

ASK FOR WHAT U WANT
-On cold nights, Munchie jumps up into my bed.
When he sees me going for a walk, he follows me.
When he spies an attractive tree, he tugs on his leash.
When i open my car door he tries to jump in.
Munchie knows it's ok to have desires. When he wants something he made it clear. Sometimes he gets it & sometimes he doesnt. At least he asked.

KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL
-If u want to learn the power of one-pointed concentration, watch Munchie keep his eye on the tennis ball as i am getting ready to throw it.
I swear, his eye doesnt leave it for a moment. I can change the hand that holds the ball, stuff it into my pocket, he doesnt miss a movement.
If i would stick to my goals as intently as his eye sticks to the ball, i could get everything i ever wanted.

ENTERTAIN YOURSELF
-When i'm not at home, Munchie finds plenty of amusements. He chases cats, sniffs dead frogs, naps & visits neighbours.
The world, through Munchie's eyes, is a big playground. There's always someone or something to keep his life exciting.
He doesnt divide life up into work and play. He finds joy wherever he is.

CHOOSE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
-When Munchie trusts someone, he's fully present with them.
When he doesnt like someone, he steers clear of them. He doesnt stay with people who hurt him.
He has no concept that he has to be with anyone. He doesnt suffer to pay off karma from past lives.
He is loyal to his friends & lets everyone else go their way.

PROTECT YOUR BOUNDARIES
-My dog has no questions abt the right to his space. He knows his territories & protects it.
The moment any foreign object with wheels or legs comes near my house, his hair-trigger bark alarm goes off. Night or day, he's there to announce potential intruders. (If they dont run away when he approaches, he starts kissing them: we're still working on this one)
Munchie's intention is so strong that he intimidates big dogs. Sometimes, a Doberman comes around, she yields to the Munchie Security Service. The fact that he's no bigger than a rabbit doesnt matter; he knows his rights & his neighbours honour them.

GET TO KNOW SOMEONE B4 YOU COMMIT
-When Munchie meets a dog on the beach, they sniff each other for a while.
Sometimes they make friends & play for a long time. Sometimes they just keep going on their own paths.
I've met a lot of people who, after failed marriages, admitted. 'I wish i'd sniffed him a little more b4 i went home with him'
Sometimes a few extra sniffs now can save a long time living with a really bad smell.

DARE TO BE YOURSELF
-Munchie doesnt need to impress anyone or prove himself. He is what he is, that's enough.
He isnt concerned abt his social image. He is concerned about being jappy.
I can usually tell what he'd for breakfast, since it hangs out on his chin for a while.
When i take him to the beach he comes out of the ocean looking like a rat from the vat.
I think he's cute all the time, and he seems to agree.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
-Munchie deals with what is in front of him. He doesnt schedule into the next decade or wrestle with decision whether to lease or buy a car. None of his brain cells are occupied remembering various PIN numbers.
All of life is exactly where he is.

THINK BIG
-No one ever told Munchie that he was little, so he acts big.
When i take him on walks thru the country, he chases cows & horses.
Once he got a cement truck to stop. He sat in front of it and barked until it came to a halt.
Munchie thinks big, so he lives big.

THINK POSSIBILTY
-Every few months Munchie disappears for several days. Once i went searching for him and found him at a house down the road, trying to romance a German shephard. The little guy reached no higher than the big lady's knee, but that didnt stop him.
At least he tried.

HOWL AT THE MOON
-Pick a goal that is beyond your limits, then sing to it.
You may get it.
Even if u dont, you'll have fun singing.

GO ALL THE WAY
-When Munchie digs in the sand, he doesnt stop until he hits the bedrock.
Sometimes he finds a treasure, someimes he doesnt. But he never stops until he has moved ever bit of sand out of the way.
While he's digging, you could not distract him with all the Milkbones in the world.
When he's done, he walks away, triumphant. He went all the way.

As far as i can tell, Munchie is an enlightened being. He doesnt read a lot of books, has never gone to a seminar, and has no problem balancing his checkbook. Perhaps if i can play my cards right, one day, i will wake up as happy as him.

A fresh new take on a dog's life.
AMAZING! Isnt it???

NTU talks in Suntec City -23feb08

Attended the talks on saturday with Ida -yeah it's her again~

Saw many ex-tee jaycians^^
Went to Accounting/business talk which was held in 2 meeting rooms at 10am.. as we were slightly late, there was only standing space. Didnt get much out of this talk as the speaker was mainly talking about how good their courses are and what are the job prospects. Like i dunno~

Also attended Communications, Art, Design & Media talks.. Quite interesting speakers.. I guess that's why they are artistic people with a flair in communications. They seem do poke fun at engineering people (painted a picture of boring people who are walking fashion disasters -but ended by saying something like, we sound as though we dislike them, but in fact we dont.. wah ha ha.. who believes?)

The business & computing, computer science & engineering talk's a lil boring.. or maybe i'm already worn out after listening to a series of talks. The meeting room is the biggest and it looked empty initially, people started trickling in overtime and it became increasingly packed.

Accompanied Ida to the NIE talk.. hoots.. the speaker's so boring..
I fell asleep.
Yeah.
Sians.
Haha.. i dont intend to join NIE anyway, if this talk is any indication of what is to come in the following 4 years then no thanks!

Went to Tampines Mall to do some shopping~
Saw Yuwen once in Popular and a second time outside Four Leaves bakery after i bought my fav brownie. So you3 yuan2!
Then we headed for White Sands to take photostickers again.
Cos it's cheap, prices from $3 and the $8 one we took allow us to scan in a picture and superimpose our images onto the picture scanned in. Amazing! Too bad we dont have a picture with us then.
We took once on friday & twice on saturday. I wonder if the shop assistant recognised us..

The above are the ones we took on friday, the ones on saturday's with Ida.. Cos i asked her to scan them in.. But her computer broke down, asked her to take a photo, her cable spoil. *faints*
So i'm waiting to lay my hands on the photostickers tomorrow as i'm going over to her house. In anticipation of a fun day with Ida & Flame (flying into Singapore this afternoon)^.^

L -Change the World

Caught the movie on the 2nd day after it premiered on 21 feb at The Cathay in Dhoby Ghaut. First time watching a movie there, surmore it's at The Grand Cathay (big x3 theatre), with Ida who loves to watch movies there for a special reason haha.. (she knows it.. neednt to mention it here) As for me, any Cathay cinemas will do, cos they're offering $6 tickets to students for screenings before 6pm on Mon-Fri.

Didnt realise the theatre's gotta be very big, so we chose 2 seats at the back, when we entered the theatre, we realised the screen's too small for our viewing pleasure. On seeing that the theatre's pretty empty though we were already late, we shifted seats (not once, but twice..lol) to the first row of the 2nd segment of the theatre. I doubt the tickets in the first segment will be sold on ordinary days. First row's so cool, super-duper big extra leg room like business class airplane seats^^

L's so CUTE! Kawaii ne!

His eccentric movements & style never fail to draw laughter from the audience. Squat instead of sit on chairs and whatever there is available for him to squat on.. once, he squatted precariously on some tiny, slippery looking structure by a river. Ida was then wondering whether L will slip and fall into the river.
The way he types is also very funny, using 2 fingers and have big movements of punching the keys. I wonder how can he type so fast that way, but he's L afterall, he's the only one who can do that.
The way he eats is also very funny & both of us imitated the way he pick up food with 2 fingers right away as we munched on Twisties & Caramel Corn. The way he runs (hunchback style) is also quite funny, i wonder how can he run fast that way. But he's L afterall, he's the only one who can do that i guess.

*caution: spoilers ahead*
One scene where L tried to straighten his back as he was being egged in by the young girl to do so, his bones crackled as he tried to straighten and took a few awkward steps forward, so needless to say, he gave up & reverted to his hunchback after those few steps.
At the same location, where L and the 2 kids had a picnic at the rooftop of a scientist/researcher's lab, the young kids told L it's unhealthy to consume all those sweet stuff and after overcoming initial surprise, L explained that sweet foods give him a source of energy.. blahblah.. helps in stimulating brain activity.. [the next day, Ida gave it as an excuse to her Mum for her unhealthy habit of favouring sweetened drinks over plain water]
The creative part about the picnic was, he used a test tube holder to put Pocky biscuit sticks and put a beaker over wire gauze on a tripod stand to heat up hot chocolate. L dipped every single piece of sweet goodies into the chocolate dip before eating. Wow! Damn sweet loh! haha.. now i discovered the alternative usage to those lab equipment^^

In the first two Deathnote movies, L's always working behind the scenes in a highly secretive room. In this movie, he's forced out of his confort zone as the bad guys stormed his place & locked him out of his information system.
His escape route from his place was so typical of him --a hot pink 'Angel Crepes' truck (ice cream truck) which is no ordinary truck.. it's modified and equipped with computer and all those high-tech stuff that enabled him to delete the data in his 'office' before the baddies can lay their hands on it. As the pink truck stopped in the middle of a busy street, a horde of schoolgirls swarmed towards the truck.. it's so funny as they thought they could buy ice cream.
L became an action hero in this movie... Leaped from an aerobridge onto the opened door of a plane as the aerobridge collapsed and clung on to the edge of the door for his dear life. Slowly he clamoured his way up the plane and became the hero who saved the world by bringing dosages of antidotes to a lethal contagious virus that would infected the whole world. That's how he CHANGED THE WORLD.

Super nice movie... Simply because i'm a fan of L. Call me biased or whatsoever.
I still love L.. it's a pity he died after 23 days (the movie had this countdown of how many days he had left... which is kinda sad.. but L lived life to the fullest and helped to CHANGE THE WORLD before his death)
Pale skin and dark eyeliner rocks!!!!!!!

Three words

Woman's Ultimate Fantasy

A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying a cocktail after work one night..
When the bar door opened and the most gorgeous hunk of a man she had ever seen entered.
He was tall, muscular, and handsome, with thick dark hair and beautiful, sparkling green eyes, and his every movement was so masculine and sensuous that the woman could not help but stare.

The man noticed that he was the object of the woman's rapt attention, and with a sly, sexy smile, approached her.
Blushing, she prepared to apologize for staring, but he leaned close and whispered in her ear. 'I'll do anything,' he whispered in a deep, soft voice. 'Anything, absolutely anything you want, anything you have ever fantasized, for fifty dollars.

There's just one condition...' Trembling with anticipation, the woman asked him the condition. The man said, 'You have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words.' The women gazed into his hypnotic eyes, considering the proposition, then reached into her handbag and took out fifty dollars. She scribbled her address on a napkin, folded it around the cash, and pressed it into his waiting hand. She leaned over and whispered into his ear.........

This is what i found in my mailbox yesterday~
My dad says it is a film box, yeah it sure looks like a box containing film.. but nowadays who still uses film cameras? Very few i would say. And it isn't likely that a company will use it as an advertising tool.
I tugged at the end of the paper attached to the film box which says 'PULL' haha and a roll of paper resembling film was being pulled out. Woots..What a innovative advertisement design! It surely makes people do a double take when they come across it. Unlike conventional flyers that we find in mailboxes.. sometimes we just thrash them without even looking at the content.
But it's comparatively more expensive... need to employ workers to roll the paper and place it in the box. Since the company Sony Ericsson is rich, they wouldnt be bothered by the extra costs.
Okies.. shall talk a lil about the advert.. it's SE 850 mobile phone with 5 megapixels camera, xenon flash (i have no idea what's the diff between a normal flash and a xenon flash).. A function-packed phone, but lacks the beautiful sleek looks of LG and Samsung phones. Oh ya.. the latest N96 is so cool, cos it's looks kinda like the iPhone.

Foochow performance troupe's 2 performances in a day!

Woots.. one at noon in Foochow Association building and another one in Tanjong Pagar CC. Both events are Chinese New Year celebrations. So the theme of the dance item is of course, Chinese dance. Didnt participate in the performance cos i am still new in there and i know my dancing skills are still CMI cos i lack dance background. Have probs in coordination & need to be more graceful. I reckon i'll do better in hiphop -that genre doesnt require much grace, it's more about attitude and cool poses.

Nevertheless, i went to support.. I helped in taking photos of the noon event, but since that wasnt my camera, i dont have access to those photos yet.
At night, i used my own camera.. yeah.. so here comes the series of photos...

Everyone stood up when the guest-in-honour arrives (late --as usual)
I think he's the one in bright green.. cant really tell cos he came in with a big entourage.

Before the performance.. Angelina & Desiree~
Haiz.. but Desi moved away while i was taking this photo..
Shall name this -Case of the ghostly dancer

At the start of the performance, the audience couldnt see the dancers properly cos the kuku audio crew pressed the music button & the curtain button together or something. The dancers are supposed to run out once the music starts, so at that time, the curtain still covered half the stage (=.o)

fan dance!~ so chinese wor!

Creating a flower.. they're moving constantly, so part of the picture becomes a blur

Then the guys come in.. only 3 la.. haha pathetic number..

Xue liang doing wushu performance in the midst of the dance.. haha.. my dance/wushu laoshi like to choreograph stuff like this, cos he's good in both

Wei ren the swordsman.. LOL

Yun yun jie substituting Sophie who was unfortunately sick on the day of performance, yun yun's so pro, learnt the dance steps just hours before..
The colourful long cloth (chinese called chou2) is so beautiful as she swirled it around her. I heard some 'Wows' in the audience =)
End of performance... phototaking time!

The guys just love imitating the girls' dance moves... haha.. so gay can?
There's another er2 xin1 one involving pink fans (remember the ones in 1 of the prev pic) which i didnt catch on camera.

All the performers =p

Sentosa Flowers 2008

My dad wants to see flowers, so we went, together with my mum & aunt on saturday. 大年初三... haha that explains why i hadnt been blogging much about CNY. Being going out~

It was really really crowded... Full of tourists & locals alike. I think we spent the majority of our time there queueing. Woah sian!
Drove into Sentosa, got directed to the carpark in Sentosa Cove (at one end of the island) then queued to board a bus to the flower display venue under the hot sun (it was around 5+pm.. but still hot)
When we finally reached Imbiah Lookout, we thought that's the end of queuing. Actually it's the start of more queuing -to get into the entrance.
Some kuku architect/landscape designer came up with this stupid design of the entrance, yeah it's nice cos of the zig-zagging slopes up the hill (the venue's on a hilly area) But since the organisers are expecting millions of visitors to the place, they should know better than to ask every visitor to line up in a single file to enter. *Faints* One line of people going up the slope and another line of people going in the opposite direction. This is what we call 人龙.. literally.

Queued like siao... eventually made it up the slope..
Still need to walk a distance before we could see flowers =x

Year of the Rat
Haha.. so there's Professor Rat over there doing some serious reading. Hush hush! Do not disturb!

可爱的毛毛虫!!

Pink pink flowers, i dunno it's name (cos i arent exactly into flowers) but i like

But my favourite is these white rimmed purple flowers.. beautiful!

The sculpture forms a chinese word, one of the many on the top 'storey' of the hilly area

Pink & Red 花海

Merlion in the evening sky~
See how packed the pathway was below?
Hoots luckily we steered clear of that pathway, if not sure kenna stuck inside for ages..

Theme of this year's display..
The board's made of flowers mounted carefully on it to form such a beautiful picture~
See the close-up below, really 3D leh
Cant imagine the time & effort spent on doing this..

After viewing the majority of the exhibits, we left the place via another exit (my dad thought of another way to get out of the place) walked one big round to reach the foot of the hill. I reckon going this way was much faster than coming down via the designated exit, which means more queueing wor..

Wanna wish everyone good luck in year 2008!

I took this picture of the cover of a chinese book, when i first picked it up in the library, it certainly reminds me of someone whom i havent seen in months. Clover!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta meet up soon!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
大年初一
Wore my new pair of slip on shoes for the first time^^
So cute right? Wohohoh..

1st day of CNY, went to 2 temples in the morning, one near my house and another one in Bugis which is kinda crowded cos we arent early enough, at 11+am, there were loads of people waiting to enter the temple from both sides, behind barricades controlled by Certis Cisco officers.
After which, we went to my grandma's house... all these while, i was the one driving my family around haha^^
Then waited for all my maternal side relatives to arrive at my grandma's house before setting off to a vegetarian restaurant. Had been eating vegetarian food for many years during CNY cos one of my uncles is a vegetarian. To make the reunion dinner a big family affair, all of us go vegetarian too! Some of the dishes really resembles meat dishes, like bwa kua... yummy!!! Though i think the original version would be better cos there's lesser colouring and whatever additives & favourings they added into the food to make them taste like meat.
All my relatives there took up 4 tables in the restaurant, i went around to take pics when the 8th dish was served (before dessert arrives and everyone prepares to leave)
One couldnt help but notice the latest fashion trend~
Look carefully...
Can spot in these 2 pictures...

Haha.. father and son(s) wear the same outfit.. wonder where they got it from. So cute loh!!!
One good way to ensure that kids dont go missing in the CNY crowds.

Before CNY....

I put up decorations bought by my mum & dad around our house, haha every year we put up decorations (cos my dad loves to make the house red, red, red and more red, presumably to match the festive mood) But i think for this year, i think there's really a lot of stuff to put up cos my mum saw many cute mouse decorations so she bought many home =p

Proud of my creations... i happily took pics of them to show the world haha..

First up, free postcards taken from White sands library. I found it really cute, so i took 3, cos i havent thought of what to do with it. Then my mum suggested putting it up on the wall, but there wasnt enough postcards to form a chinese word or form any nice patterns. Hmph! Why didnt i take more of them?!? By the time i went to the library 2 days later, the postcard shelves were empty. Woohoo... it's so QQ everyone else who walked past took a few.. so theres nothing left le =x

Baby Disney!~

The 'da ji da li' wall decor is actually 3D, though one cant tell from this picture. I like the bright orange colour^^

Never mind these 2 mice look more like squirrels. To me.. they're cute haha
Notice the word 'fu' with part of a rat's mouth?

The '招财鼠' haha the mousey version of 招财猫
Put in my living room, facing the door.. Hope it brings 财气into our home!!!

Mickey & Minnie.. looks uncannily similar to the Disney version right?
Haha.. made in China stuff can really pass off as the real deal sometimes

Cant really see what's in it unless u click & enlarge the pic
It's 2 'lines' of fish, swimming towards a '福'
The fishes were originally a wind chime like decoration (in the way it's hung.. just that there's no bell to chime-chime when the wind blows) which my dad bought in Australia long time ago, he's the only one who appreciates it i guess. Hand painted wooden fishes in diff colours~ My dad took them off the fishing string (i forgot how to say 鱼线in english.. hmm this direct translation looks a tad too weird) and asked me to put them up on the wall. So tadah! here's my creation!

Cloud enjoys putting up CNY deco & enlisting the help of her good o'buddy Blu-Tack!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!
hahaha.. lets celebrate the start of the year of the mouse with some world famous cartoon mice..

Mickey & Minnie Mouse! Saw lots of made-in-china CNY decorations with prints of these Disney characters on sale, haha should be pirated de la.. But it's so cute, so i doubt anyone will care..
Bought a word FU adorned with golden glitter powder and flanked by these 2 cute characters. Will post pictures of my house's CNY decorations once i've uploaded them^^

Ahhh... Not to forget Jerry! Hailing from Tom & Jerry, the cartoon that i loved to watch when i was young. The witty little mouse which always outsmart the stupid big cat. It's repetitive, but audiences will not be bored, as Tom & Jerry are always full of funny & creative antics. Something like Sylvester & Tweety.. Haha the small but smart one will win. I'd read the report in Chinese papers 'xian zai' and the reporter wrote that there were complaints about the violent content in Tom & Jerry series. Hmm.. i didnt notice that when i was young and thinking back.. i dont think it's violent. Look at what we have now. Happy Tree Friends -thats what i call violent content packaged in a cheery (complete with bright colours & cute characters) & 'happy' form. But one neednt be a genius to tell that those irrelevant content are badly disguised.
Hmm.. it's 2am le..
Shall go Zzzzzz.. Need to wake up early tmr..
It's da nian chu yi!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well.. i havent done my nails yet.. no time.. i was busy packing/tidying my stuff on CNY eve..
CLOUD wishes everyone a HAPI HAPI mousey CNY
A very thank you to all my dearies who sent CNY wishes via sms to me, havent replied the majority of them cos my mobile phone inbox's already flooded since i-dunno-when.. So.. Paiseh la.. i dont mean to dao anyone..
It's Chinese New Year!
Lets paint the town red~

I watched the tv commercial of Ayumi Hamasaki's new album Guilty, to my surprise, i saw Shawn Yue starring in one the music videos. The song title is 'Fated'
I wondered what's a hk guy doing in a japanese pop queen's video^^

Since i like both of them (ayu's so beautiful & her songs are so nice + shawn yue aka yu wenle's so shuai4 & is gd in acting^^) i searched for it on youtube.

But the music videos online were tagged as 'Glitter' instead.. Hmm maybe the song is called Glitter??? Then an extended version of the song is being made and renamed 'Fated'? I wonder...

I like the extended version.. So much so that i watched the 2 videos twice..
Shant tell the story.. if not it will spoil the joy in watching..

The 1st part of the video~

The 2nd part of the video~

Quite touching orh..

The original version of Glitter's MV is a truncated version of Fated.. Nice too, but there's sort of like no ending to the story.. haha that's why i chose to post the full version here. Watch it when u're free!

As promised, a post on my driving test..
It was a really quick test, approximately half an hour, it started at around 1010am and by 1040, i was watching video in a classroom (everyone who pass the test are required to watch a short video). Lucky for me, there's a warmup lesson by a driving instructor before the real test, to let candidates get used to the test car. I mounted the kerb once in the crank course and stalled engine while trying to move off a slope in the circuit =x Oops! haha.. For the actual test, it went quite smoothly, no major errors that account to immediate failure (eg. mount kerb, fail to stop promptly at stop line... the list goes on) Blah.. so i thought it is actually not difficult to fail a driving test.

But my test route was quite a far (long) one -chosen at random by picking ping pong balls marked with numbers, but by the time the box was passed to me, there was only 1 ball left. Along that Yio Chu Kang Road which is undergoing roadworks, so i almost missed the entrance of an U-turn cos all that stuff put up for the road works blocked my view of the entrance. I knew it was somewhere 'there' cos i'd seen the U-turn sign a short dist away, yeah when i finally saw it, i 'zoooped' in at a relatively fast speed as i didnt have enough time to slow down and make a nice turn. Hmm so the car made a wide turn. I was like OOPS! The U-turn bay's wide enough for 2 vehicles, but my car took up the whole bay =x
Needless to say, i would be awarded demerit points for making a wide turn, failing to slowdown when seeing road hazards (those stupid road works that took forever to complete) and veering off course -more than 10 points in all~

At the end of the test, i followed the tester back to the traffic police room (dunno the exact name la) to know the outcome of the test as well as get the assessment list (to know where and what went wrong) When we stepped in, i saw a plump lady who'd the same testing timeslot as me sitting inside. From the tone of the tester's voice, i knew that she didnt manage to pass, cos he was like telling her off in a stern voice kinda thing. I sat down opposite my tester and watched him calculate my 'scores' and he shun bian ticked more boxes = more demerit points along the way. He commented that my control of the clutch pedal isnt too good and theres room for improvement in my steering technique. Well, i can forget about the clutch pedal since my dad's car is an auto car = no troublesome clutch pedal to control~
Then i watched him write down '16' at the bottom of the 2nd page... i was like SHHHHEEEEETS! I thought i was going to fail, cos the maximum that we can accumulate is 20 demerit points. 1 page in my assessment list alone took up 16 points *faints* He flipped to the 3rd page and added 2 more points to my score before flipping to the 1st page which is empty *heng sia!* Haha.. 1st page is for parking and courses done in the circuit, which i was rather confident of (i thought it went smoothly =p)
So i had a grand total of 18 points!!! Hehe.. Anyway, I PASSED!!!
That's the crucial thing.

Doses of luck involved, like the timing of the test is on a saturday late morning, so the roads arent full of vehicles, making it easier to change lanes. Cos sometimes the tester wants to test the learner driver's abilities, after a right turn (the car's on the rightmost lane), as learner drivers we need to keep to the leftmost lane, so we try to (actually it's a must) change lanes, then the tester said turn right. Wah! Need to change back to rightmost lane. If the roads are clogged with traffic, then darn suay loh. Moreover some qualified drivers like to bully learner drivers on the road (they like to sound their honks for no apparent reason) so chances are they wont want to let learner drivers cut in front of them.

Started driving with the triangle plate on the very day i received my temp driving lesson. I knew it. My dad will want me to practise driving, haha but i'm always sian-sian one. Drove my family to my uncle's house in Tampines, not very far away from my house, but it's the first time that i'm driving during night time and it's drizzling. Enjoyed a honk orchestra as i drove.. Haha i'd gotten used to it, so these random honks wont make me panicky as those bullies hoped. Blah fat hope! I've confidence in myself that i can drive safely on the road.

Today... Drove to my grandma's house shortly after reaching home from a shopping trip in bugis with yuwen (waiting for her photos haha)
Drove to bedok after that for some cny shopping in a supermarket.. Haiz.. It has been raining and raining these days~

Just passed my driving test this morning~

Though i am not too keen on driving, i think my dad will ask me to drive soon.. Haha..
So don't be surprised if u see me driving my dad's car on the road.

Hmm as for details of my driving test (how i managed to pass), i shall update later, cos i'm going to my uncle's house later today and going shopping with yuwen tomorrow^^

Cloud's a new qualified driver now!
