Watched the slightly edited version of the short film 15 by Royston Tan on monday during gp.
It's acted out by real-life gangsters, painting the truth about their lives. That's also the reason behind the change in actors after each short chapter in the short film. They either got caught by the police or went into hiding to evade the authorities' arrest, hence unavailable for filming. Oh so real.. the cold hard truth..
The film's mostly in Hokkien with no subtitles, so i dun quite understand some parts of it.
There's not much plot for us to understand anyway, it's just snippets of gangsters' lives.
Some themes explored include: neglected teenagers, suicide, tattoos, piercings, gang fights, drug taking, drugs smuggling, spewing vulgarities, self-mutilation, public nuisance... Their anger, misery & frustrations that few can understand, so they seek solace in one another, forming a gang. It also shows the attitude of the general public towards them, the prejudice held against them & stereotyping them into what they perceived as troublemakers.

Some parts of the film can be hard to digest. Kinda disgusted at a few scenes. No appetite to eat during break time later. When one gangster slashed his arm repeatedly to vent his anger, i think the director made him really do it. So u can imagine real blood & messy cuts and all... *Pukes* Another part is where one guy pierced another guy's lip for him. He pierced one side, then said 'Erhmm bu4 hao3 kan4 leh... pierce another side for u.' We went 'erhmmmm... not funny wor... this kind of thing how can try again de??' The swallow drug-filled condoms part was stomach churning. My gp tutor said maybe the director made the actor swallow to capture the 'REAL' scene. But that was really gross & could tell that the poor chap had a hard time.
When the film ended, 1 classmate was surprised to hear that it was based on true stories. Just goes to show that how sheltered our lives are, knowing little about those neglected youths who are of the same age range as us.

Warning: those who cant tahan blood, vulgarities... pls dun watch ok? Dun say i didnt warn ya. Haha... cuz there's this part where one youth was shown as the record holder of being able to shout the most vulgarities in different languages within a minute or so... kinda funny la... haha though i cant understand a thing. My mind's still quite clean i guess.

Fahrenheit aka fei lun hai's autograph session at IMM on 28jan

Spent 8hours just to get their autograph & 4 handshakes
Many people will say we're crazy... hmm... but who cares? I guess i'm crazy too, feifei (their pet name) dont sing that well, dancing is so CMI, yet i love them~~ haha it's unbelievable i guess. Like them just for their looks... I know i sound shallow, but it's the truth. ^^

I reached there at 2pm... cindy & i thought we were early as the session starts at 6pm. We travelled from east to west just for this. Am totally unfamiliar with IMM as i go there like only once in a year? haha since that place is so outta the way for me.

What i dont like about this session was that the organisers totally shucks! There were too few barricades set up around the queue area, packing so many fans into the barricades, with everyone jostling to be at the front of the barricade. Things werent looking good, if they were to open the 'flood gates', a stampede will result as we were all packed like sardines. All i could see was a sea of black heads (stationary) that is as the security guards refused to let more fans into the autograph signing area. cant they just let us in earlier to take photos? The hordes of fans were actually blocking the passages & walkways of the shopping mall. Tempers flared as the queue was not moving even after more than 1 hour after the autograph session started. i think those at the back were queuing in the carpark & could not even hear them sing songs earlier on. That's so unfair!

The guards even persuaded us to leave the queue as we were stuck behind the 3rd barricade set up to 'cage' poor fans. Somehow it looked like a cramped chicken coop... Luckily i arent short, if not i would have problems breathing fresh air. Especially after hours of queuing, all the fans were getting hot & sweaty.. *smells* haha
But hey i refuse to leave until the last minute feifei leaves the stage. I came so early & travelled so far, i arent going home empty-handed without a 'fight'. So when someone spotted a small opening at the back of the 2nd barricade, some quick-witted fans made a mad dash into the area. No need to guess, i was one of them. Being able to sprint really helps man! But my dear fren didnt manage to dash in & was a distance away from that small opening that was blocked by a security guard shortly after i barged in. Sighes. Later she gave up queuing & went to take photos instead. What a pity!
Now that i was alone... and a little desperate as time was running out, i jostled for space within the 2nd barricade & in no time... i was in the 1st barricade! AMAZING! haha.. I couldnt be more surprised at my jostling skills & sheer luck. Anyway, being gentle & good-mannered doesnt help when it comes to crowded situations, with inconsiderate sh***y people cutting queues... Poor cindy! She's always the kind & gentle girl... felt bad when i sort of left without pulling her along. (but she was more than 1 arm length away from me, unless i have Luffy's flexible arms? haha..)
The emcee then announced that each fan can only get 1 cd autographed, cant talk to feifei or give presents. Ooh so sad.
Took many photos with cindy's camera, but it's kinda laggy, when the camera finally reacted to my 'click', some stupid fan would have blocked the view of my idols' faces. Brr... in the end, didnt manage to shoot my favourite Arron's picture as too many fans stood in front of him & for TOO LONG! Okie i know he's good-looking that's why.
Was so busy seeking great shots of them close-up in front of the stage that i didnt realise it was almost my turn to go onstage. Got to dig out my album from my bag, take out the lyrics booklet, peel of the autograph session entry pass from the cover & keep cindy's cam as photography isnt allowed onstage... Before long, i was standing in front of Wu Chun, the arguably best-looking of the quartet. His handshake's surprisingly solid & warm.. hmm even after more than 3hours of shaking hands with fans. If it were me, my hand would have been shaking or rather trembling by then lol. Next up's Arron... felt nothing... hmm didnt even look up when signing & i was busy staring at him to say anything to him. The 3rd one, da dong aka jiro. I told myself that i needed to say something... before i get off the stage. So i babbled a very cliche thing '要加油哦!' haha jiro heard it, looked up & smiled at me. I could see that he tried hard to mask his weariness, but at least he bothered to react! As for the last one Calvin aka the most unpopular guy of the group didnt react to my words. Sigh but who cares about him when i have jiro's attention? Hahaha..
I'm getting huachi...
It was 950pm & the autograph session ended with a bang at 1010pm when they performed the final song '超喜欢你'. It was a real high song & we watched it on level 3 as levels 1 & 2 were packed. I'll probably upload some pictures here when Cindy sends me the photos.
Wu Chun tried to dance then, but he looked totally weird & unnatural... I think he should just stick to being the Cool man Chun.

Was the lucky lucky last person to squeeze up the last shuttle bus that leaves IMM at 1030pm, if not we have to walk to the mrt station neh. We would be totally lost in the darkness.Smacked my arm against the windscreen & hung onto my dear life on a non-existent bar... I survived!

Reached home at around 12 midnight~~
A little hyper & didnt sleep until almost 2am, it's amazing that i didnt fall asleep in school today.

Since it's just the start of the year, shall begin with a light-hearted note

JOKE OF THE MONTH
This afternoon, my class was supposedly down for the maths field test, which is carried on on random cgs to gauge our maths standards. Most of us had already settled down & preparing to start the test, when the MOE people asked 'Are you all Year Ones?' We were like 'huh???' and replied in unison 'We are Year Twos!!!' They looked puzzled & one of them made a call. By then we were all chattering, did the tutors make a mistake? Haha
This turned out to be a blunder, the test was meant for Year Ones yet they asked a large bunch of Year twos to stay back for the test... Funny sia! The MOE people have got to come down to school some other day~ Haha
When they told us to return the test papers...
I heard some students say
'Wow! this is the shortest test that i have ever taken! Don't even need to read the questions.. The test end liao!'
'第一次交白卷, 还可以那么开心!'
LOL^^

JOKE OF THE WEEK
By our dear gp tutor
I had no idea why he suddenly talked about the new ramps in school, i wasnt listening by the way haha. Saying he tripped on those ramps many times. This evoked a series of comments by my cg mates. Saying they were ugly, unsightly, too steep, too sudden. Agreed! I got tripped a couple of times too! My tutor wondered why dont they install wooden ramps that would be removable instead of permanent concrete ramps that seemed to be built by some construction amateur. So he said the work seemed to be done by someone who anyhow mixed cement & water together... even i also know what... Just mix cement & water together & pour there. Erhmm cant imagine my tutor pouring cement & making comcrete ramps around the school. LOL.

JOKES OF THE DAY
By our dear gp tutor again
He told another class about 2 sayings: man were created by god or evolved from monkeys?
Then this smart guy replied.. all of us are here are created by god, but you (the tutor) are evolved from monkeys. =.o
haha
so cheeky hope he doesnt get marks deducted in his next gp essay

Green day (hmm i think this should be the name)
All Year 2s distributed flyers to different areas near the school to generate publicity for the event & carnival
Before we started, we had to assemble under the hot hot HOT sun, made me feel like a pie in a baking oven. The teacher ic instructed us not to SLIP flyers under the doors as the residents may SLIP and fall when they open the door & step on them. So funny kays? It rhymes haha amazing..

Midway through one of the blocks, i met a woman who's returning home, when she saw me slipping a flyer into the gates, she asked me 'Why are you littering?' =.O this question caught me offguard. I told her it's a flyer to promote an event at our school. Initially i thought of intro-ing more but i stopped short as i dont think such a snoobish person would be doing charity & recycling. Was quite pissed off by her.
Anyone who's not blind can tell the difference between a FLYER and LITTER.
What a joke~ flyer=litter?

Monday's not a good day~

CASE OF THE GOONDU ONE:
Thanks to one or more goondus, my waterbottle's broken... I put my bag on the table inside the toilet, then Boomph.. I saw a few bags scattered on the floor. Some goondu toppled the whole table which is actually quite big, it's a wonder how she managed to do it. And being the goondu bobos, they didnt pick up the bags or put the table back into place instead they stood in shock or was it awe at what she/they did. I didnt realise anything amiss & went for lessons. Until i put my bag onto my lap & realised my skirt's wet. It turned out that my bag's wet, initially i thought it was because of the wet toilet floor, to my horror, the water came from my waterbottle. A large crack at the bottom of the no. 5 plastic type of bottle to be exact (it isnt a normal Ice Mountain bottle). Yi an & clover couuldnt believe that those kind of bottles can crack.. the problem doesnt lies with my bottle, it lies in those goondus. Haha. And ya, my bag's wet... #%@!*#~ wth.. I aired my bag & the wet stuff in the chem lab like no one's business.
Haha...
Crapped so much just for a waterbottle~ Yeah i was angry...

CASE OF THE GOONDU TWO:
During grp PE lesson today, it was raining, yes... RAINING! not drizzling yet the GD PE teacher made us run to lucky heights. We tried to negotiate & requested to run on the track instead. But he refused & wanted us to run up the lucky heights... so end of negotiation, we started jogging. By then, the rain was getting heavier & heavier. Gosh! We were like totally drenched. Rainwater went into my eyes & affected my vision. Brrr... ouch! That was the first time that i ran in such bad weather conditions.
Halfway through the run, GD teacher finally realised his mistake & asked us to head back school. By then all of us were like wet puppies. Beta & Delta tees (white & light green in colour) became translucent & yeah u know what can be seen. I overheard a girl telling her friend 'hey! your bra's nice!' Haha...
I reckon many people will fall sick after this Pe lesson.
Luckily there was only rain not much wind, if not i'll be a shivering wet puppy ToT

I've had enough of goondus...

thanks darling dearie 2505 people for celebrating my birthday at the class chalet on the 6th jan & the girls who bought me the present haha^^

The chalet was at civil servant club in changi, much more convenient than aloha changi. My sec 4 chalet was at aloha changi, the place is so ulu-ulu, 1 independent old bungalow looking like something out of a horror movie.. haha there's even joss sticks & oranges put on the grass beside the bungalow. Eerie enough?
They already started the BBQ when cindy, sam, xz n i came, haha cuz xz was v late.. =.=
It just so happened that the BBQ pit was near a bar with a live band. So some of my friends went to ask the band to sing happy birthday song for me while they surrounded the table & sing happy birthday. Initially i even thought they were joking haha
The feeling was so funny, so many people celebrating my bday, with live band singing.. how cool can it get?~~^^
Woohoo~ here are some pics taken at the BBQ

Thanks sam & cindy for sending me the chalet pics! ^^

Watched Deathnote 2 last thursday with my dear pri sch friends Jess, YQ, Alv
Havent seen Alv in like 7 years.. oh yes! that's really a long looonnngg time for people who's not that old yet haha..

Loved that movie! All of us agreed that it was nicer than the first, prompting Alv who hadnt watched the prequel to say she wanna watch it on youtube soon.

The plot's intriguing, full of twists & it's darker & gloomier than the first. A battle of wits between the 2 geniuses Light vs L. Of the 2 characters, I prefer L (the guy with a hunchback, put on dark eyeshadow & looked unnaturally fair) i think he's the smarter than Light (the guy who always wear black) as he could narrow down the search of Kira (the name Light used when he kill criminals using the Deathnote) to Light Yagami when there arent much evidence that point to him. If only the investigation team believed him right from the start... But Light really did a good job at covering his tracks & misleading the police investigation team. It's a pity that both whizkids died in the end. I'm still wondering what's L's real name.. He wrote his name in the Deathnote but covered it when he showed the book to the rest of the investigation team. I could only see a date & some japanese words which Jess said was an1 si3/peaceful death. Yeah his death's really peaceful as he wished for... He was munching on a bar of chocolate (he's eating sweet food like candies & chocolates in almost every scene of the movie) when he dropped the chocolate & hung his head low. At that juncture, i was thinking 'bye my dear L' what a waste of talent man!

Towards the end where fake Deathnotes appeared, it got a little confusing~ Haha but it makes viewers think & admire the wits of the 2 geniuses.. I wanna be as smart as them!

Hmm what else.. I cant remember what i typed in the original post, after i finish typing a few days ago, blogger tells me that it's under maintenance & can only resume operations the next morning. >.<

NEW YEAR'S DAY~

Early morning i went for a walk in East Coast Park with my family as a form of exercise... heheh a great way to start a day~

After that went to many places together with my aunt & uncle's family... Farmart in Choa Chu Kang.. it's like farms & have shops that sell foodstuff. Farm+Mart=Farmart!

Bought water lettuce to put in my mini 'aquarium' outside my house as the strong rays of the sun shining continuously on them killed the entire 'brood' of water lettuce covering the water surface (that was before the rainy spell), so the 'aquarium's water surface had been empty for some time.

Went to Qian hu fish farm which was nearby

Had interesting finds..

STINGRAYS!

TORTOISES FORMING A BRIDGE

FISH SPA: WHERE LITTLE FISHES CLEAR DEAD SKIN FOR U
DUN DARE TRY EEKS!

Went to climb Bukit Timah hill after that... impromptu climb... somemore took the hilly routes with killer steep steps.. luckily i wore comfy shoes. My little cousins were so pro, they were only 5 and 7, i wondered why they can scale those steep steps with ease (their legs were shorter so it shld be more difficult for them isnt it? or so i think) & were still bursting of energy at dinner. Last time they could complete a few km walk at MacRitchie 101% pro kids!
Good exercise for me!
haha

Going to watch Deathnote 2 later... excited!
