Wanted to blog about the Olympics weeks ago.. Now, finally when i put my pen, or rather put my fingers on the keyboard, the Olympics games is drawing to an end. Time flies, i thought i just watched the opening ceremony.. Hehe.. now anticipating the closing ceremony~

I enjoyed watching rhythmic gymnastics, beach volleyball, synchronised swimming & diving, basketball, women's soccer, table tennis^^

Especially gymnastics, watched how graceful the girls are, combining poise & strength, with perfect balance on the beam. So amazing! Ordinary people can't even walk straight on the oh-so-narrow beam, yet they can do somersaults and land gracefully on the beam. Hehe.. That's why they are called athletes while the ordinary people are called, hmmm.. what else? Ordinary mere mortals who arent blessed with talents in the sports department.
As for the guys, i watched in awe how they performed their routines on the pommel horse and the '2 rings' --forgot the name for it. Super arm power needed.. That's why the guys are all short & 'top-heavy' --strong & big upper body but has skinny legs. Looks kinda weird actually.

Beach volleyball's another tough game to play.. Volleyball isnt easy to begin with..
Just 2 players per side, they've to do a lot of running in sand, which inhibits movement as feet will sink into the sand with each step. I love watching fast-paced games and beach volleyball's one of them =D

As for basketball, i only watched one match --China vs United States.. Hehe watch Yao Ming in action..
The American and Chinese players adopt a different style in play. The Americans have great coordination and they throw or rather hurl the basketball across the court, so they played a really fast game. As for the Chinese, they stick to the traditional dribble and passing. But dribbling wastes more time than throwing across the court, so they get lesser chances of scoring even when the ball's in their possession much of the time.

Synchronised swimming is like doing ballet in water~
Much more difficult than swimming and ballet, because they have to hold their breath for prolonged periods when carrying out their dances. Esp the beautiful 'legwork' ---dancing legs up in the air while their bodies are submerged in water.
Synchronised diving is like doing gymnastics in the air~
Do several stunts while defying gravity & making nary a big splash when they touch the water.

Watched women's soccer for the first time to see how ladies play soccer..
They are as rough as guys, yeah so there's not much difference.. 23 people with a ball in the field.. Why 23 u wonder.. Don't forget the referee ya?

Just watched 2 matches of table tennis today.
Singapore's Li Jiawei lost 2 matches, got 4th.. So sayang, getting 4th in Olympics twice.. No more medals for SG =x
But the women's team got a silver medal for the team event previously, hehe.. Can be considered a good showing then. The local sporting fraternity's celebrating!!!
As for me, i dun feel much excitement or whatsover.. I'm just happy for the trio who's going to be rich!! (You all should know what i mean??)

OLYMPICS MANIA~~
LALALA.. lalala..

On another note, saw in the newspapers today.. SAD NEWS..
Remember the hugely popular Korean drama Coffee Prince (咖啡王子1号店)?
One of the actors passed away in a traffic accident.
SAD ahhh.. 李言.. He's that guy who has a lot of brute strength, but isn't that blessed in the intelligence department. Quite foolish at times (actually it's most of the time), but that makes his character in the drama adorable and endearing to fans.

The news was really shocking.. There's cases of Korean artistes being involved in traffic accidents, like several members of the boyband Super Junior sometime ago. But this one is really serious. Actually, even the actor's friends dunno why he was riding a motorbike on that fateful day cos he dun usually do that.
Sighes..
