Step Up 2 -The Streets
Watched this movie last friday with Angelina & Yan ning^^
Kinda last minute too... like the previous time i watched a movie with Dawn. Just that this time round, it's somebody pangseh, but they have already bought the movie tickets so they need to find someone to go with them. Hahah so i'm the kind soul (unsurprisingly) who went with them.
But just thinking about the $10 movie ticket cause heartache leh.. After the price hike, watching movies became more and more expensive... Haiz, why leh? To add fuel to the raging flames of piracy??
I didn't watch Step Up 1, don't know why but just didn't watch though Cindy said she thought it was so nice she caught it twice in cinemas.
Step Up 2 wasn't that nice..
The plot is basically awfully... is there a plot in the first place?
Well... It's just some dialogue to bring together cool dance sequences.
The dance steps & choreography are WOW-inducing, super duper nice & cool. The hip hop & breakdancing steps/stunts are absolutely amazing! The last part (climax) involved the protagonists dancing in the rain. Kicking & splashing water around -extra visual effects.
The other parts of the movie is yawn-inducing. But since it's a dance movie, most people are there to watch the exuberant dance scenes... So 'whatever!' (said in a similar fashion in American slang as said in the movie to indicate devil-may-care attitude, not in Singaporean slang to promote the canned drink)
Cloud simply loves hip-hop.. It's just my genre of dance!^^

Trip to Pulau Ubin on Good Friday holiday
At my uncle's birthday celebration dinner in the previous week, my cousin KM asked when my dad will be going to Pulau Ubin again. He likes to go to Ubin with my dad cos my dad knows the island inside-out kinda thing.
So we all agreed on going on the coming Friday, which happened to be a public holiday!^^
Together with 2 of my aunts & cousins MQ & MM as well as Claire. Claire's my distant cousin, haven't seen her in such a long while that i cant recognise her =x
Went to the chalet on the island for the first time~
Nice well they've created over there.. but what's with the garish bright yellow words 'WISHING WELL' on it?? Makes it look so 'artificial'.. hmm i bet it is.. cos the other genuine wells on the island dun look like this.
Chalet with the ulu-ulu kampung feel.. that's what u call rustic island life?
Heheh.. not my cup of tea la.. go there feed mosquitoes
Jambu plant... with so many JAMBUS!
Lunch's like a picnic at NPCC campsite
Later, my uncle and his family joined in..
They frequent the island, the previous time my family went, it was with them too^^
2 of my little cousins are super-duper energetic & hyper, that's why my uncle needs to bring them to the outdoors for them to expend their energies.
The 2 brothers look increasingly alike & they're often dressed alike, so if one didnt really take notice, it's easy to mistake them for a pair of twins^^ The younger brother Xuan Ji can't even stand still enough to take the 'big family' picture, while the elder Xuan Yu stood beside me~
Waited at the 100 year old bungalow turned vistor centre of Chek Jawa for the low tides to set in before we can view the creatures in the sand. At high tide, all that's below the boardwalk & bridge is all seawater..
Little creatures with 1 large piercer (think oversized crab front legs) so they walk in an awkward manner. I tried zooming in but they still look small in this picture, click on it to enlarge, maybe can see better.
That's the new bridge overseeing Chek Jawa, so visitors needn't get their feet muddy & step on creatures unknowingly.
My dad brought along an old kite to fly.. Weird hor.. fly kite at Chek Jawa..
My cousin MQ couldnt believe how easy it looked when my dad flew the kite, so she tried her hand at it. But after awhile, the kite began to swerve in a circular motion, ahhh.. it's zooming down... MQ and Claire quickly pulled it back just in time.
As we wanted to move on, my dad wanted to fly the kite again.. Flew so high & high & high.. till the end of the string.. Then it started to go in that circular motion again, jialat! Got stuck on a tree on a cliff at the side of the coast line. Can't pull it down, so my dad cut the string and let it go. After all that kite's like 20 years old & nobody likes to go fly kite these days. Then KM quipped wah! 等了二十年, 终于解脱了! Lol..
Goodbye dear kite!^^
Spent a day cycling in Pulau Ubin on such a hot day..
And it's rare that Pulau Ubin has so many visitors that there's a long queue to board bumboats back to Singapore.

When the time strikes 11:11.. somebody is thinking of you..
Heard of this from a Korean drama.. Haha..
Well.. that's a lil random..
Something more random before i start talking about where have i been to today. My blog has been the site to record my outings, so many that i sometimes forget the details =p
I concocted my own drink ---
banana oreo milkshake and it really rocks!! lols..
So sweet~ Don't need to add additional sweeteners or sugar.
Cos banana, oreo with chocolate cream & fresh milk are naturally sweet.
So when i took the first sip of the drink after putting them together in the food blender, it was awww... awfully but not too overwhelmingly sweet~
This afternoon, i attended an Easter church service with Fiona.
First time going to a church, but that church isn't the ordinary church that we usually see.
It's in Singpost Paya lebar building, never knew it's existence.. Haha.. The church is in the auditorium which is accessible by lifts behind a gate.
Today's a youth service, so there's only young people there. Makes me feel kinda old already. Lol. There's pool, foos ball, air hockey tables at the side of the auditorium and karaoke room upstairs with a food booth outdoors (like balcony)
Went earlier and sat with Fiona's friends in the karaoke room, where people are welcomed to dedicate songs to their friends & sing it in front of everyone else. There's this guy who's quite a pro in singing, picked Jay chou's song 牛仔很忙and sang & danced throughout the song. Many people clapped along~ It looks like he's holding a concert & he's certainly enjoying every moment of it =p
The service starts with the worship band singing a couple of songs, it's been a long time since i'd last listened to christian songs. Back in my sec sch days, we often had singing sessions during weekly assemblys as AHS is a missionary school. The crowd/congregation of young people is very spontaneous & enthu about it. Jumping up & down such that one can feel the floor shaking~ Oohs.
The pastor, quite young also lor..
Talked about Peace.
People around me started taking out notebooks & started copying notes, woots, so hardworking.. like studying in sch..
I came across this saying which was put up in one of the slides
'To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.' --Theodore Roosevelt (American President & winner of Nobel Prize)
4 areas of peace.. Peace with the WORLD.. Peace with PEOPLE.. Peace with MYSELF.. and of course Peace with God..
The pastor's a charismatic speaker and injects a right dose of humour every now and then to effectively catch the attention of the young audience. After speaking for sometime on the topic of peace, he said something like 'give you a verse from the Bible, to show that this is a church'
Lol.. Cos many people who first came to this church won't believe it's a church. He said 'they will go.. oh where's the cross? For your info, it's on the stage, when u come up on stage u can see it'
There's a water baptism event at the end of the service at another level.. which is like open-air plaza kinda thing in the Singpost building. Wow! It's so windy there. Fiona said it looks like an ideal venue to hold 签唱会.. yeah agree! First time witnessing water baptism... literally submerge people in water as part of a ceremony.
Interesting~
Had been going out everyday for the past 5days.. so didnt have time to update my blog..
Shall come back with more updates^^

Attended a dinner in celebration of my uncle's birthday last saturday, which was a real busy day for me..
Went for dance and wushu class then left earlier at around 4pm, reached home at 5pm and went out at around 6pm.. Hehe..
The dinner's held at a Toa Payoh seafood restaurant in a pretty ulu-ulu place.. but heard that the food is nice..
Sat at the vegetarian table with my grandma, aunt & parents.. Haiz.. I wanted to eat meat one loh.. But my uncle arranged for an entire vegetarian table to cater to my youngest uncle who's a vegetarian, but the thing that he dont quite understand is that true vegetarians cant stand the most vague hint of meat in their food. So the utensils, cutlery right down to the pots & pans used to cook the dishes have to be those that only touches non-meat produce. My youngest uncle didnt turn up for the dinner, cos of busy work schedule, but then again, we didnt think he'll eat there even if he turn up.
Later, 2 of my cousins Mei qin & Mei mei joined our table.. Hmm.. they aren't vegetarians too, none of us seated at the vegetarian table are..
There's where the funny part of the dinner starts~
Asking cooks at a seafood restaurant to cook a vegetarian meal must be torturous~
So u know how the food will turn out..
Horrible.. They just bought vegetarian food from the supermarket and deep-fried them kinda thing. They don't seem to know that stir-frying green veggies will be a better option & there's 101 varieties (maybe i'm just exaggerating the number, but there's really ample options) of mushrooms that make tasty vegetarian dishes.
There were really loads of deep-fried fake meat.. Eat until sian, and as i said they sort of buy vegetarian meat from the supermarket in the form of 1 big value pack, so the whole dish is made up of only 1 ingredient. Arghs! Why can't we have 5 or 6 different ingredients in my platter like those served on 'normal' tables?? Haiz, the cooks really have no idea on what's called vegetarian food. I've tasted yummy vegetarian food before cos i've relatives (on both paternal & maternal sides) who're vegetarians, so CNY reunion dinners are often vegetarian in order to accomodate them.
Mei qin & Mei mei's brother Wei long came over to kaypoh about the vegetarian table's food, he tried a lil to get a taste of the food as he was wondering why there was still so much food left in the plate. We jokingly told him to bring the dish to another table and he really did~ Lol.. He just went to another table and put down the dish & came back with their dish. Oohs! Meat have never tasted so yummy~ hahah.. Needless to say, that plate was 'wiped' clean^^
He did that quite a few times & seemed to enjoy it. Bringing dishes from the other tables to our table, though some dishes look barely touched & he said he 奉命令来的... Haha relatives from other tables can't eat much?!
Until those waitresses who came to clear the table got confused.. They went.. Eh? I thought this is the vegetarian table???? How come got this dish here?!?
Lol.. We explained to them that the vegetarian eater isn't present, so we just eat whatever we like lor^^
Once, a waitress served us a whole chicken to our table.. Oohs.. Real chicken lor, such a nice fragrance from the chicken, we thought it can't be vegetarian, must be some mistake. Yeah it really was.
Even my grandma's maid got confused, she thought the vegetarian dish of fried pork cutlet is the real McCoy & didnt dare to touch it, until we told her it's vegetarian.
In some way, we got the best of both worlds~
Get to taste 2 variations of dishes, without even needing to move around, cousin WL kept bringing them over^^
Later cousin Kui mian also came over to chat, but he just looked at the vegetarian dishes, he didnt even want to try, haha.. staunch meat lover..
So WL & KM are like 'fighting' for the right to bring over half-eaten dishes over to our table..
When the fake prawn dish arrived, KM stood up & looked at the real prawns being served at the other tables. He said 真的虾在呼唤着我,我要过去啦! WL also stood up & quipped我也要去吃真的虾! Before leaving our table for awhile to devour their fav. prawns. The real prawns cooked by seafood restaurant cooks tasted really good^^ Yeah i ate quite a lot, cos of contributions from 2 tables. So effectively there's like 3 plates of prawns on our table. 2 real 1 fake~
Real vs Fake. Real ones beat the fake ones hands down~
Last dish after the dessert of yam was birthday cake. Durian cake!!!!!!!!!!!! Woots with real durians inside! So tasty!!!! *Licks lips* But WL detests durian & he stood metres away from our table for 'safety'.
Cloud had an interesting dinner.. yes! literally!

Last sunday Yuwen & i went to NUS open house for fun~
Haha.. really, cos i'd already submitted my application online, so it's not as though i've to go there to make my decision. Just go there see see look look, take goodie bag =p
Missed out on a nice goodie bag though, it's from singtel i think, or maybe some other telecommunications company, there's some tidbits inside that bag. But by the time YW and i found out where to get the bright blue paper bags from, all of them were given out & all we have is bright blue flyers =x
Met many tee jay people there... Fiona & Shifang, Leck, Kee yann, Kai lin, Eunice... and many other people whom i can recognise though i never knew their names.
The most interesting thing we've gotten from this open house ----a mini pot of cactus!!!!!
Haha.. so funny right? Usually the goodies/gifts are like pens, post-it pads, notebooks.. The Project & Facilities management people are creative enough to come up with this idea.
Left NUS shortly after, cos we didnt attend any talks or go for campus tours or whatsoever.
Next, we went to Paya Lebar for lunch at KFC. The Cheesy Meltz there rocks! haha.. i love anything that comes with cheese^^
Took a bus to Parkway Parade from there as YW wants to develop photos. Photo developing is cheap there. 20cents per piece if u develop a minimum of 100 pieces, but u'll need to wait for an hour before it's ready for collection. The Konica shop's usually crowded cos it's really popular, compared to the Kodak shop just opposite (more expensive ma).
Meanwhile we went to Borders for one of our favourite pastime~
Browsing magazines! Yeps can save loads of $$$ by browsing there. Don't have to buy & worry about storage problems when magazines start to pile up in my room.
Took a bus to Bedok as YW wanted to sell her mp3 player at Cash Converters, but the queue is so lonnnnnnnnnnggg.. that i think we'd to wait for more than an hour. Haiz.. So we didnt queue. Took a long bus ride home with YW from Bedok Int~
Continuous chatting make the ride seem much shorter.
It's a nice day out with YW.. went to so many places~
A food for thought that i told YW that day.. I'd read it from somewhere, sometime ago. But i don't think i've posted it here, so YW gave me the idea of posting it up when she tried reproducing it in her blog entry, but she missed out an essential part.
Men can spend $2 to buy a $1 item which they need whereas Women can spend $1 to buy a $2 item which they don't need. Now, let's figure out who's the smarter one??

THE ORPHANAGE
Watched this movie which i'd never heard before last wednesday, haha..
Thanks to Dawn who'd won a pair of movie tickets of the screening more than a week before the film officially opens in cinemas. She received an notification sms from the organiser in the afternoon about the screening at night. What a late notice! So she had difficulty finding someone to accompany her there. Me, being that kind soul (hahahhahahah) went with her, rushing out of my house soon after i received her phone call =p
We reached there Marina Square's GV before 6pm, as stated in the sms & email Dawn received. But the person in charge hasn't arrived yet and the counter staff made us wait at the side of the counter for quite sometime till i was really sian-ed. Then when we asked again, they finally said the organiser hasn't arrived with the tickets *faints* Couldn't they just tell us earlier???!!!
And we realised the screening time is at 715pm. So why on earth do they tell us 6pm?
So we went for dinner at BK first...
Walked past this restaurant with really nice store displays~
Dawn wanted to get a taste of the food badly... Look at her.. Ahhhhh!
There's another outlet in The Central at Clarke Quay, but didnt take any photos then.. haha..
I wonder whether the food is nice~
The movie...
When we arrived at the cinema (yet again) the table that the person in charge was supposed to be seated was occupied by 2 guys. One was munching on popcorn while the other used the table to put his nachos. So we went to take a walk...
The person in charge arrived just before the movie, got caught in the traffic jam or sth..
The starting part of the movie, where the credits started rolling (directed by____, screenplay by____) this kind of details which few people care, i felt that the background music that came with the starting credits was a lil too eerie for a movie on children. Cos only children can stay in orphanages right?
Until the chinese tranlation of the movie title came out '灵异孤儿院'
Ahhh.. that gave me an idea of what was to come.
Oh and that movie's filmed entirely in Spanish, so i was relying on Eng subtitles throughout.
Eerie.. Creepiness..
The story's evolves around a house which was a former orphanage, the couple who just moved in intended to set up an orphanage or child care centre there. The mother grew up in that orphanage in the past, so she wanted to shower love & care for more children. They've an adopted son Simon who can see supernatural things. He talks to 'imaginary friends' & invited a 'boy' whom he saw in a dark cave home to play, by dropping shells along the way. The next day, his Mum found a pile of shells at the door, then the scene zooms in on a bathroom door that closes by itself.
The 'boy' he invited turned out to be the most vicious ghost of the lot, out to take revenge on the other kids as he was drowned in the cave when the other kids played a prank on him.
The usual stomping & creaking of the wooden flooring sound effects in horror & suspense shows are overused~
So it has become kinda 'chey! expected la!' than 'eeeks! scary!'
Her adopted son told the mother that the 'children' are playing a game, hiding of some precious things that are important to him. The mother, thinking it's just a game Simon invented, played together with him. Everyone watching the movie will know it isn't the case. One clue will lead to another, so they went around the house searching for clues. It turned out that the most important thing that was hidden was Simon's medical report which stated he was HIV positive. His mom snatched it away from him before he could read it.
As if that didn't sound a bell in his parents. Hey! Something's wrong with the house!!!!!!!!!! They aren't the only ones in there!
Until the day when Simon disappeared, his mom was busy with the meet-the-parents event to gather more children to stay with them, to listen to Simon when he wanted to show her Tomas' room. Tomas is the boy whom he brought home from the cave. Tomas locked the mother into the bathroom to prevent her from searching for Simon. Yeah should be that bathroom which he first entered. Then that night, she found a doll on Simon's bed. First clue to the game.
But she ignored it.
Till months later, the police still had no news of Simon. She engaged a medium who carried out some test in the house. Something like time travelling, there, she saw several children who were poisoned & screaming 'help me!' But the father was sceptical & decided to move out of the house, closing this chapter of his life. As expected, the mother refused & asked him to give her 3 days (if not the movie would've just ended there... no kick la)
She embarked on a hunt for Simon who she believed is still in the house. She pleaded for clues. And a glass window came crashing down. I gasped.. It's just so sudden!!
She pulled open a trunk beneath the shattered window & she found a row of dolls lying inside..
She immediately ran to find the doll she found on Simon's bed (first clue) and placed it inside, then she found another item inside the trunk & carried on the hunt for more clues. Till she came to the final clue. A door knob.. She had no idea which door it leads to.
The scenes paint a picture of a mother driven into desperation and embarks on a path of obsessive 'self-destructive' behaviour.
Here's the crazy stuff she did:
-Dug up bags of the remains of children staying in the former orphanage from a long narrow tunnel in the toolshed unwittingly when she embarked on a search for the highly elusive door with missing doorknob.
-She recreated the old orphanage (bedrooms, dining table, even down to the food... woah! da4 gong1 chen1!) in a bid to appease the spirits of those children killed & dressed up herself as the caregiven in the orphanage. i thought she was going to be killed or encounter some misfortune cos the caregiver was the one who poisoned those children.
But nothing happened then..
Until she started playing an old game which the children in the orphanage loved to play. Something like hide-and-seek, 1 child faced the wall/tree and say 'knock-knock-knock' then the other children will gather behind, until 1 child tap the child who was knocking on the shoulder, the hide-&-seek game will start.
The mother tried to coerce the children out by knocking on a wooden cabinet in a dark room. Initially there wasn't any response in the room, undeterred, she continued. Here comes the eerie part, 1 by 1 the children popped out behind her each time she knocked & turned to check. Then there's a close-up on her when she wanted to knock one more time.... a hand tapped her shoulder. *gasps*
The atmosphere created was really good & i guess that would be the most eerily frightening & memorable scene of the whole movie.
So the game starts.. She found a girl first & she was led into the storeroom under a staircase by her. As she dug through the filthy storeroom, a child slammed the door to the storeroom shut. That was a lil sudden & yeah yet another creepy scene. Inside the storeroom, she dug her nails into the wallpaper & found a door. Oohs. She stuck the doorknob into that door & soon found herself in a well hidden basement which was once Tomas' bedroom. (Tomas was a facially deformed boy who'd spent most of his years hidden from the public's view by his mother before being drowned when the children played a prank on him in the cave by removing his mask & daring him to step out of the cave before the seawater comes in)
She found her son Simon lying in Tomas' bed but he was already dead (he couldnt go without medication given his condition)
Then some amazing thing happened...
She prayed long & hard for her son to be fine.
When she looked up, the lighthouse's beacon of light shone on her face. (Left many in the audience like me wondering how come that defunct lighthouse is working again??)
The truth is, she travelled back into the past..
And the children were all sitting in their beds.. No longer giving people creeps by sneaking around.
So she stayed there to take care of all those children in the orphanage & Simon.
The end.. 不能说的秘密style of ending heheheh..

Went Orchard with Yuwen, cos she wanted to go to the job agency at Ngee Ann City, change her slippers at n.u.m. & probably buy a scarf from 77th street. Haha so basically i was just there to accompany her.
Don't quite like that job agency nah.. cos i was there months ago & they didnt help me to find a job. Yeah so i'm still jobless. Went there fill in form again~ Sians
Then YW complained she was really hungry, yeah so hungry that she couldnt quite comprehend what i was saying. Lol..
So she ate half a big plate of fried prawn noodles (i ate the other half) cos it was just a few hrs away from dinnertime. Then she saw ToastBox & wanted to eat the toast.
Heheh.. Borrowed her toast for photo taking & ate a piece of the thick butter toast topped with sugar. Hmm it's nice, but i prefer kaya toast^^
Went HMV later to check out Japanese CDs..
Those CDs aren't easily available in the other CD shops, so whenever i drop by HMV, i'll get stuck in the Japanese & Korean sections. Couple of my friends like BY & Doris will know.. Hahah they'll somehow regret stepping in the store with me in the first place.
There's just too many Jap-CDs that i'm interested in buying, so i'll usually end up buying nothing. Firstly is due to the price factor, Jap albums cost around $50 & can easily go up to $70 each. Jap singles sell for an average of $20. Secondly, Japanese singers & bands release many singles in a year until i lost track of how many, so it's kinda impossible to amass enough money to buy so many of them. Thirdly, i like so many Jap singers & groups. I can't decide on whose's album/single to splurge on. Unlike BY who's a fan of X-Japan (she bought the whole series of re-released singles on the rack the prev time we went)
So this is what i did..
Pose with 3 KAT-TUN's album/single.. heheh.. But can't really see from the picture.
Besides KAT-TUN, i also like Tomohisa Yamashita from NEWS, WaT, Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi... Also Koreans like BoA & Dong Bang Shin Ki (known as Tohoshinki in Japan) who sing in Japanese.
Later, YW's bf came to dine with her. Haha time for me to siam4.
Something really interesting:
I thought of Sakae Sushi when YW asked me earlier on when should they go for dinner. I dunno why cos it isn't the only restaurant i know of in Heeren. But i didnt tell her, i just asked what her bf like to eat. Like Japanese/Italian/Thai crusine..
Then when her bf came, he wanted to bring her to Sakae Sushi for dinner..
Wah my sixth sense so zhun3 wor!~
Quick go buy 4D/Toto..
The thing is.. Heeren's level 5 is closed for renovations.. So all the restaurants & shops on the top level is closed..
Heh so i dunno where they went for dinner la.. Maybe Sakae Sushi's another outlet in Wheelock Place?

Crazy shopping trip in Bugis..
1st time i'd spent so much time in a shop & so much $ on clothes.. haha.. i'd always been a thrifty girl~
Went out on last Sunday afternoon with BY aka ida, Flame & Lu Ying in the afternoon, quite last minute arrangement.. Cos Flame couldnt reach BY in the morning, so cant go sing KTV together =x
First time going out with Flame and her friend... It's not hard to notice that both of them looked so different, they attracted glances/stares of passers-by(上下打量). Drastically different in terms of height (very tall vs very petite), dress sense & hairstyle (more mature -long hair with curls, loose top with large patterns paired with skinny jeans & small classy handbag vs cutesy schoolgirl -shirt & vest with pleated skirt, leg warmers & slingbag)
Haha.. it's fun walking behind them & see how onlookers throw curious glances.
Just like how people stare at my shoes whenever i wear my cute slip-ons with hand drawn designs & my golden Converse shoes.
A few interesting cases:1)First time BY saw my shoes as we stood up to alight on the MRT train at City Hall, she said 'Wow, your shoes so cute!' Then this guy (around our age) immediately
turned to his right but he didnt manage to see my shoes. He turned a 2nd time as we walked towards the door of the train, but he was several steps ahead of us, so he didnt manage to see my shoes again. As we were walking across to the other side to board a north-bound train, he turned to his right for the 3rd time to steal another glance, but he missed it again as he was walking several steps ahead of us. He turned to his right for the 4th time... while we stood near the same door to wait for the north-bound train. Haha.. To make sure that he can see my shoes this time, i stood a few parallel steps away from him.
BY also noticed this guy's weird reactions upon hearing the word 'Cute'.. Both of were laughing when we talked about it later.
2)My cute shoes
distracted a hugging coupleHere's how it goes..
A young couple hugging while waiting for mrt train to arrive. I walked past them, the guy noticed my shoes and looked up. The girl (who was facing her bf initially) noticed his reaction & turned to look too. So both of them were staring at my shoes as i walked away. Lol
3)2 Hai sing
schgirls were waiting for their friend who couldnt get through the mrt station gantry, as i passed the gantry. One girl noticed my shoes & told her friend.. 'Eh eh eh, you see, you see, so cute!' So both of them stared at my shoes as i walked away.
I love my cute shoes... left my cousins wondering who they belonged to when they arrived at our grandma's house during CNY (all the shoes were left outside the door, so it's like a shoes galore out there)
Okies.. back to topic~
Brought BY who also like L to see the cardboard cutout of him outside 77th street, there's actually another one in Kinokuniya, but it's placed in the display window, so u can see him but u cant touch him.. hahah..
I shall introduce to all of u.. -my new boyfriend~
Lol.. Don't know why, i just suddenly thought of that then..
So BY claimed that L's her ex-boyfriend
BY's hungry so we went to Bugis Junction's basement while Flame and LY went to MUJI.
She bought a chocolate-coated doughnut which is so hard that i've difficulty biting off a small piece to taste it.. My front teeth arent working so well since they were bounded by braces. So an incredibly funny & embarrassing incident happened. Shan't elaborate about it =p
Since the mini doughnut is so mini, she was still hungry & bought this Korean spicy niangao.
I'd heard of this dish in the Channel U's 7pm K-drama so i was really interested to get a taste of it too! We've sweet niangao in Singapore, salty niangao from China & now, spicy niangao from Korea =)
The small white pieces are the niangao, which is practically tasteless if not for the spicy broth with kimchi & fishcake. But i liked the chewy QQ taste.
Flame & LY left early to shift their belongings from their old rental room in Marine Parade to their new room in Boon Lay. BY and i continued shopping...
Went into a small shop which sells mostly Japanese-inspired clothings imported from Hong Kong, that's why they are cheaper compared to other shops which sells clothes & accessories of the same style.
Fell in love with white puffy skirt on display on the store's wall.. So kawaii!~
BY took a liking to the dresses, which i find pretty unique & AA (attract attention)
There were 3 foreign girls in the shop (they spoke in an asian language which i didnt understand), trying on various outfits & had difficulty choosing which ones to buy. The shopkeeper made a comment in Mandarin (cos 3 of them dont understand Mandarin) 'I think they're staying overnight in my shop' Lol..
BY tried on a red-black checkered dress with a criss-cross ribbon design in front, which i found cute, so i tried it on while BY tried the pink-black version of the same design. 一发不可收拾~
Ended up buying the red-black checkered dress & the matching headband as well as a cute black-hot pink puffy mini skirt which made me look like a cheerleader.
BY bought the pink-black checkered dress & a black-white headband, a Jap-style uber cool jacket & a baby pink-black mini skirt.
We spent more than one hour inside that shop.
Enough said? Haha..
BY's her usual indecisive self, pondering over whether to buy & was still haggling over the prices when i reminded her 'Hey! C'mon it's already 7pm'
A picture of me wearing that dress & matching headband at home.
That black long sleeved shirt was my cousin's.. haha.. It's still in a good condition.. Maybe he'd too many black shirts??
This outfit is considered 'tame' by Jap style standards, but if i've got something that's too AA, i may not have many chances to wear it..
If i manage to carry off this style & have $$$, i'll definitely go to that shop again to source for more Jap-style clothes^^. Never mind the fact that they arent manufactured in Japan. Missy here dont have truckloads of money to buy those expensive Japan imports.
While BY & i were in that shop, i noticed many people walking past the shop, talking about the clothes or simply staring out of curiosity..
One girl said as she browsed thru a rack 'If i wear this to work, my boss will kill me!'
Another girl walking past said 'XXXX will definitely like girls who wear these!' to her giggling friends. I presume XXXX is a guy's name.
The most interesting comments & reactions come from the guys. One guy went 'WOAH! Cosplay stuff arh!'
While i was wearing the red-black dress in the shop, the shopkeeper demostrated how i could possibly style my hair in front of the mirror which happened to face the corridor. As she was gathering my hair skilfully to create a high, slightly messy but stylish ponytail, i looked into the mirror. Duh!
And this is what i saw: A group of guys walking past the shop & 1 of them was like tiptoe-ing, craned his neck & moved his head left and right in a frantic motion to catch a glimpse of SOMETHING. Lol.. I almost burst out laughing in front of the mirror^^
BY went on to buy a pair of shoes to match her pink-black outfit from another shop in Bugis Street. I love the unique designs of shoes there! But i'd already bought 2 pairs of shoes recently, so i shall 忍!!! Resist the temptations~~
Then we walked past the ZINC shop on the groundlevel of Bugis Street.
BY dropped by & asked the price of the pink rabbit bag that she'd been eyeing since last year. The cute-looking guy standing at the shop's front said $35
She said oh-ok, then she stepped out of the shop. The moment she took a step out, he said 'Ahhhh.. $32, $32!' as he waved an outstretched arm at BY.
BY had spent a 'fortune' buying clothes & shoes that day so she's still unsure about buying a bag so she replied 'I'll think about it'
He said '$30 la $30! I give u new one'
BY turned to me and asked 三十块可以吗? He immediately said 三十块, 可以啦可以啦! Haha.. His Mandarin sounded weird. When BY said 'Hmm.. I'll come back later'
He started to 撒娇 YES, NO JOKE.. this guy really knows how to
撒娇..
'Eh.. Buy now la..' As he moved his body left & right. I was like (-.o)
BY: Hmm (obviously surprised by his sales tactic) I'll come back later'
He stuck out his last finger & said 'Promise??' with that i-dunno-how-to-describe facial expression
I almost fainted... (-.-''')
Ahh.. i know.. just like a lil boy pleading with his mum to buy him a lollipop from the mama shop/get him the latest toy in Toys R Us.
BY still replied 'I'll think about it & come back later'
You can imagine the salesman's disappointment~
When we really came back later, he rejoiced.
Ran into the shop, made this motion of 'Yeah', punched fist into the air.. Looking more like a soccer player who had scored a match-winning goal than a Bugis St salesman.
As we were leaving the shop, he gave us a casual wave & continued to shower attention on 2 girls in the shop. I bet he's going to employ that sa3 jiao1 tactic yet again..
If u happen to drop by that area, can go check out if this funny salesman is still working there. He wore colored contact lenses & had short black hair, looking kinda sissy but isnt totally gay.
CLOUD had fun shopping, buying cute clothes which i totally adore!!!!!!!

MARATHON SHOPPING TRIP with Yuwen last friday -29feb...
A special day in 4 years..
The mrt trains are so crowded on a weekday afternoon, it's weird.. and there's people around holding flowers.. Guess it's also a special occasion for couples to celebrate together?
Shopped till i 'dropped' that day.. it's not that i spent a lot that day, it's just that i walked a lot till my legs ached..
From White Sands to Orchard Far East Plaza, Wisma Atria, Suntec City to Citylink & Marina Square, to Vivocity, then Bugis Junction. ALL IN A DAY! We had been to every single popular shopping mall/area in Singapore that i can think of. 不累才怪!
At noon, we went to the photostickers shop in White Sands, wanted to take photostickers at the cheapest machine in there $3, the shop's having promotion, so all the prices are comparatively cheaper than the town outlets. Took 3 times with Ida in 2 days.. haha maybe the guy working in the shop thought both of us are crazy over this. Went with Yuwen 1 week later, the machine is spoilt or something.. haiz.. and Yuwen complained that her newly-trimmed fringe looks weird, but i find it ok. Looks like a doll mah.. Cute~
So we took pics of each other in there using YW's camera... the green background looks so bright & cheery.. i like!
When shopping in Far East Plaza, i havent been there for months!!!
Spent quite a lot of time there, wanted to find the shop that Ida told her about but we combed the entire top storey & still couldnt find it =x
Stumbled upon a Paper People shop which sells nicely printed notebooks with their own in-house designs, i couldnt resist the temptation & bought 2 hot-pink notebooks =)
I dont know why, but i'm falling in love with the colour pink (*o*)
Saw a Newbie black jacket with a nice hot pink prints hoodie, liked it so much, but it's only available in S size, weird la! The store doesnt make girls' M size. Well not all girls are so small size one what.. Hmph! Then the guys' version of jackets (green instead of hot pink prints) isn't available in S size. Newbie and its weird sizing system~
But that design is selling so well that there isnt any stocks left for the black jacket with green prints, so i didnt buy it.
Then went Wisma Atria's Topshop, YW's fav place.. haha.. she has got Topshop shoes, dress...
Whereas the poor Cloud don't have any cos she's too poor to buy the expensive clothes & shoes there.
Went Suntec City for Career Fair, my mum wanted me to go, so i 'psycho' YW to accompany me there... Nothing much, just private institutions offering expensive courses & degrees and overseas universities setting up booths. Went to check out the SIM university, but it's more expensive than NUS NTU.. Hmm.. It's more affordable than going overseas.. yeah.. we just breezed past those 'Study in Europe' booths.. No $$$ don't bother to check out.. sure get either heart attack or heartache. Or worse, get both... heart attack cos the costs are sky-high (when can i get hold of so much $ to study & live there? unless strike 4D, Toto & Singapore Sweep) give me heartache upon knowing the interesting experience of studying abroad that i'd be missing out.
Went to Marina Square Newbie outlet to check if there's any last pieces left for the black jacket since we are near that area. Sighes.. don't have..
Yuwen thought of exchanging her n.u.m. bag again cos it's peeling yet again. That bag's so expensive yet lousy. It's not the first time YW complained about it.. haha.. Went to CityLink outlet, after calling his superior, the salesmen allowed 1-for-1 exchange even without receipt. Cool! Yw wanted to change her blue-black bag to a milky white one of a diff design. The salesman who looked vaguely familiar to me (like my sec sch tuition classmate or something)assured her that the leather-like exterior won't peel. He said 'this one is the new design, UPGRADE le, sure won't peel one' LOL. he's funny la.. When Yw asked what time the outlet closes, he said '5' then the salesman with a shorter version of S'pore Idol Paul Twohill's hair began laughing uncontrollably. We were like thinking 'Hur? You're saying it closes at 5pm when we are standing in the shop at 6+pm??' Realising his mistake, he said slowly 'Today is friday hor, hmm.. we close at _pm' (by now, i'd forgotten what's the time he said)
But Yw found that the last piece of the white bag is a lil dirty, so she wanted to go another outlet to get a new one. So 2 of the salespersonnel started calling & calling other branches while 1 (the cute one) stood at the cashier counter to slack. He grinned sheepishly in reply to the salesman with a shorter Paul Twohill type of hairstyle, who called him a slacker. He's slacking & he knows it. Turned out that only the Vivocity outlet has stocks. Yw wanted me to accompany her there *faints*
I wanted her to give me a dinner treat, if not i won't go Vivocity =p
And she did (yeah! thanks girl!) dinner at Carl's Junior in Vivocity. We shared a Charbroiled Santa Fe Combo, half a small burger each haha.. it just tasted so nice!!!!! I love the free flow of drinks there too.
Exchanging her bag at the Vivocity outlet proved much more difficult, cos their superior's (they call him IC) not around so they told us to come back later. (there's no such thing called mobile phone?) However the i/c of the store was reluctant to let Yw exchange without receipt, until Yw said the Citylink branch do allow exchange, then he relented. Ahh.. finally she got her wish~
I sat in the store to rest my tired legs while waiting for yw, i began to wonder where's the need to employ 5 salespersonnel to man that not-so-big store? The smaller branch at CityLink has 3 salespersonnel, so the cute one can afford to slack around. For eye candy perhaps? haha.. have you ever wondered why num only employs guys and not girls? And they sort of have a reputation of being good looking? Lol..
Lastly, we went to Bugis, it's already past 930pm, the Newbie store there was already closed =x
Me and the jacket 没有缘ah!
Of course we cant go back empty handed.. we took pictures in Bugis Junction~
Surprised to find a cardboard cutout of L outside 77th street. Quickly took picture before the shop closes..
Wow! So pink~~~
Helped Yw carry the num gigantic paperbag which contains not her new bag, but the paper bag of materials i'd gotten from the Career Fair.
Tickling Big ape^^
I can't remember the shop's name.. is it Slurping Ape? Or Bathing Ape?
Our favourite! Mirrors!~
The weird line down the centre is the line separating 2 mirrors, it has got nothing to do with the camera =p
Cloud's fun but tiring shopping marathon

Late Spring Cleaning... In Foochow association dance studio on wednesday..
When Sophie messaged everyone, she only told us to come down to the studio on Wed night & refused to reveal what's going on to those who cant go. For those who cant go: need to give reason. For those who can go: no way of backing out upon knowing the news of the 'sai kang' to do.. Haha..
Actually when i read that message, i got that 不祥的预感, but since i'm free nowadays, i just replied Ok.. I'm so nice right?!
8 of us turned up, not a pathetic turnout as expected as people usually 'siam' when it comes to 'sai kang' & congregate during fun gatherings.
I helped to sort out the files & put them back accordingly.. Oh man! There's papers on meeting details way back from 1992 for dance productions then. Got to see how life is like in the 'low-tech' ages, pages full of handwritten stuff & the original copy of the ticket of the dance production was made up of different pieces of small paper with various typewritten wordings & mounted on a larger piece of paper. No points for guessing that they sent that original copy to be photocopied on coloured paper... Haha.. That's ticket design back then. Now with the aid of computers, programmes & nice color printers, adding words & graphics seem all so easy that i didnt think about how it could be done without all those technology. Hmm..
As the 4 girls were sorting all those files, photo albums & whatever stuff that you least expected to find in a dance studio.. the 4 guys were busy cleaning.. The wall fans were wiped clean & the air conditioners was taken apart by Kenny for cleaning. One of the guys commented that he looked like the air con repairman --sitting on a ladder & opening the outer cover to service (in this case: CLEAN) the air con. Pro sia! Haha.. can转行next time. After which they cleaned the mirrors with some glass wiper detergent (i dunno where they found it) & newspapers. Yeah we now have gleaming clean mirrors & we can see ourselves clearer during our practices. Lol.
After sorting, i started cleaning the windows... First time in my life... I was wiping glass windows! Unlike in sec school where we just used feather dusters to clean the classroom shutter windows.. This is for real~ Woots.. I dont even do this at home. So i doubt i did a great job at cleaning & the thing is there's really thick layers of dust -it's impossible for me to remove all of them. Herman's the pro one at cleaning windows, he kneeled on the cabinet beside the windows to make himself level with the window panels & began wiping in a swift motion. A lil dangerous cos there's no window grills and he risk falling out of the window. One of the guys pointed this out to him and he went.. 'Aye u'll know when u go NS, this is nothing... we always do that...' No points for guessing why he's so good & fast at cleaning windows =p
Yun yun jie actually told us to repaint & redesign/decorate the back wall when Sophie called to tell her we are doing spring cleaning *faints*
Xue liang was wiping the wall & the framed photos of past performances (like 10years ago kinda thing.. looks super old) when Sophie relayed Yun yun jie's message to us. He said 'Hmm我看还是留着这些比较好,可以保平安' in a mock serious tone. Lol.. Who wants extra work? I think that's why all those photographs could be hung there for many many years.
The last bit was sweeping & mopping the floor. It's fascinating to see Yu ying & Xue liang fighting to be the one who gets to mop the floor. 'I want to mop!' 'I mop!' 'No, i mop!' 'I come here just to sweep & mop the floor one!不要跟我抢!' 'I want to mop!'...
The bickering goes on & on.. Till Wei ren spoke out, 'You all like to mop the floor so much, come my house and mop la!'
Eventually, Xue liang continued sweeping the floor while Yu ying got her wish to mop the floor. She's really so enthusiastic about mopping that Xue liang had to remind her that she can only start after he finish sweeping. Hahahaha..
It has been ages since i touched a mop... Hmm.. At least i'm slightly better than Yu ying who didnt know that she has to mop from the inside of the room & gradually move outside. So initially she was dirtying the floor again as she was mopping by stepping on it herself (=.o''') until Wei ren taught her the right way of mopping floors. I was busy with something-i-forgot then, if not, i would have noticed the funny way she mopped.
This morning, during dance, they drew special attention to the fans, air cons, mirrors.. So that our efforts didnt go to waste.

Karaoke outing & steamboat dinner with Foochow dance/wushu people~
A late reunion dinner kinda thing on 24feb..
Met Samartha at Chinatown MRT station, then called the rest to find out where they were. Yu ying told us to go to Party World KTV. So we walked along a long stretch of road to Party World at Oriental plaza... Only to realise that it opens only at 2pm. Sheeetss! They cant possibly be inside. So there's another Party World in Chinatown!
Then we called them again, found out that they arent at the ktv yet. Kenny wasnt sure where/how to tell us to get there & told us to go shopping first, as they are still waiting for Liling. *faints* So we walked along that long stretch of road again back to chinatown mrt station. Luckily we met Yan ran at the MRT station and she brought us to the place the rest of them are at before heading home to prepare the food for steamboat. Snaked through diff streets which are all so unfamiliar to me, it's like walking through a maze~
Along the way, we finally met up with the rest & headed to the ktv, where laoshi & yun yun jie are waiting for ages. 1st time go Party world.. the karaoke rooms are quite nice, just that the microphones in the smaller room we were in had loud echos. When informed of this, the staff allowed us to change rooms.. to a much bigger one upstairs. 9 of us can sit comfortably on the nice cushy couch & the flat screen tv is so big! Wow! So nice^^
Then we went to Yan ran's house to pick up those steamboat stuff & walked to laoshi's studio in chinatown. So i'm like walking around Chinatown the whole day, but that area is still an alien land to me =x
IN THE DANCE STUDIOValerie fished out a mahjong set in some cabinet & 'all hell broke loose'
Those mahjong addicts immediately shifted a table & started their game.
It's surprising that almost all of them know and love to play mahjong.. haha..
I know nuts about the game, so i just stood by & watched, together with the some of the rest who didnt get the coveted seats. Haha..
Start of steamboat dinner~ lai arh lai arh! Let's eat piping hot steamboat!
Happy eating!
After eating, i joined a game of blackjack, it has been ages since i'd played this game^^
So everyone in the studio is either playing mahjong, poker cards or eating 2nd round of steamboat.
Xue liang & Herman were the only ones sitting at the table, so i figured out that they must have ate a lot =p
Mini mahjong set is so cute haha..
Went around taking photos with Desiree & Yu ying for fun.. what's a camera for if u dont take pictures with it?
Tried my hand at the Adobe photoshop & added some effects to 2 photos before the 30 days trial period for the software expires. It's fun to explore the functions in there!
With Desiree above.. i made both of us, the 'centre of attraction'
And with Samartha & Sophie below^^
Gathering for a 'family' photo!!!
CLouD had a fun day out
