Food Fest

Woke up early (7am's like really early for me since i'm in holiday mood now) on a fine Sunday morning~
For...
Volunteer work at Foochow Association's Food Fest.. Starring authentic Foochow food.. Really~ Some of the carnival stall holders are from China, heard one of them saying they arrived in Singapore on Sat midnight and leaving today evening. Thats real fast! Don't even need to check into a hotel. Helped to collect food coupons and the sales of food that i've never heard before =x Oops! Hehe.. cant really explain what is it to potential customers too. Heard of 光饼 and 福清饼 ? Got 2 versions of the latter (sweet/salty) and only those with filling were available for the former. The stall holder said there's meat & onions inside, but when i ate one, i couldnt taste any meat, just got the taste of the crispy oily hard cookie. Sales for the cookies were really brisk, some of the customers dabao a lot of cookies, spending $10-$40 for bagfuls of cookies (cookie with filling sells at $2 each and those sweet/salty ones sells at $1 each) So we were kept busy, didnt even have time to spend my coupons (each volunteer's given $5 worth of coupons)

The majority of the volunteers' from dance/wushu performance troupe werent that busy at their stalls, hehe Sam and i joined them to have lunch in the dance studio upstairs. Eating sponsored chicken rice from a famous Wen Fu Ji for all volunteers at the food fest, also sampling the food they bought using their coupons. 红槽羊肉,米加丸 (‘米加’组成一个我不会念的字。。。吃起来很象 muah chee.. think muah chee served in the form of mini balls),炸年糕(此年糕非年糕,而是包满了吃起来爽口的花生的年糕)The chicken rice's rice is really nice.. hehe.. thats why famous mah.. brand name chicken rice~ Whereas I don't like the taste of mutton, though i like the red hongzao sauce used in the dish, muah chee balls taste good when it's coated with lots of peanuts while the fried niangao's really oily though i love to munch on the embedded peanuts.
HEALTH ADVISORY: TASTY FOOD ARE USUALLY UNHEALTHY.

Slacked in the dance studio for awhile before clearing up and heading to ground floor to see the 2 guys slogging out at the super duper busy stall selling fried oyster cookie/biscuit 砺饼 Well the chinese name sounds so alien to me. I ate one in the morning before the official commencement of the food fest. Oily but delicious especially when it's freshly deep fried. Heehee.. lucky i wasnt appointed there.. Level 2 got air con =p Level 1 is open air de.

Returned to the Level 2 hall not to help, but eat & drink to finish using those coupons which are inexchangable for money. Hehe *guilty* but by it's almost 2pm the crowds thinned. Fish paw (鱼piao2 -i dunno how to write the word) soup when for $4 instead of $5. Then i bought 福州鱼丸the fishballs tasted different from the usual, the 'coverings' were soft and springy not soggy though i find the meat filling a tad too salty. Drank 2 cups of iced milo~
SO FULLLLLLLL!!!!!

Went up to dance studio again, this time to retrieve our belongings.. We were embraced by the aroma of chicken rice the moment we stepped in~ Lol..
Continued slacking and some of them sprawled lazily on hard mattresses in the studio (used in dance, not those soft ones put on beds) having a full stomach makes one sleepy~
Chatted a lot with my new friends from the dance troupe~ They're really nice & friendly people^^ they have regular gatherings like Xmas party, cycling trip and planning a CNY steamboat then chalet during the hols too! No wonder they are so bonded in the big happy family =) Glad to know all of them.

Despite having a full stomach, i ate a KFC pineapple pie which Liling brought -extras from KFC delivery in the morning at her friend's hse.. i suppose~ hehe not last night ba?! Lol.. Still tastes good..

Cloud's getting fatter.. which means???
It's going to rain soon la hahahaha..
