Dance Concert Reverie IIIWatched the dance production yesterday at UCC in NUS with Sam & Cindy...^^
It's at 8pm but we went earlier to have dinner at Clementi, upon reaching, I realised that there's many other fellow tjcians who were fairly early. Shared fish & chips with Sam cos it looks nice & we thought the portion looks big, but it isnt.. just spread out on a big tray. The food's served on paper (to absorb excess oil perhaps?) The fish's crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside -looked & tasted very different from other fish & chips. I think they didnt use the conventional dory fish to prepare this dish. But the fries was a letdown, so cold it's soggy.
Having 'sinned' once, we thought why not sin again by having a big slice chocolate cake. Ooh looks yummy!^^

It's a brownie with chocolate fudge toppings that tasted good but it'll be better if they served it chilled.
BACK TO TOPIC
The dance concert's nice!^^
Like 'Urban Dancing', with diff transformations of routines, the funky steps paired with fun music makes it entertaining..
Like 'My Destiny' not just cos it's jointly choreographed by my 2 dear frens wl & lx, but also cos the song used 'My Destiny' is sung by my fav boyband DBSK
Like 'Passion' which's a fusion of salsa & hiphop grooves. Sassy & energetic. The way the male dancers carried the female dancers (7pairs in all) & executed amazing tosses & turns were incredible. Nice nice!
'Red' is a traditional Chinese type of dance with odd music like 花样年华, dancers wore the long version of qipao ---yeah qipao for modern dancing?? I can never see the link. Qipao is wore elegantly with poise, dancing requires large movements for a dramatic effect. So they had high slits in their qipaos to facilitate movements.. but then i still think it looks weird.
Something funny popped out unexpectedly in 'Libertango'. In a supposedly sexy tango performance, the male dancers CRAWLED out -yeah they were sprawled on all fours & painstakingly crawled their way off the dance floor & re-entered the stage while KNEELING (kneecaps: OUCH!). Members of the audience burst out laughing, i resisted the urge to laugh when the 1st guy crawled out, but when the 2nd & 3rd guy followed suit... i cannot tahan le.. just laughed loh..^^ Muahahaha
Why they look hot & blessed to be in the company of several beautiful female dancers in one moment & end up looking so pathetic by crawling & kneeling the very next moment? What did they do to offend the choreographer?? Lol.
There's notably more guys in dance performance this year. There's only a couple of them last yr & poor Nic was the only pro guy who danced in almost every item.
This yr Anavil's presence's hard to miss, danced in abt 5 items i guess? Always stand in front, in the middle of the stage & was the choreographer for one of the items. He's a real gd dancer.. to think he's only in J1, next year should be better keke~
Another guy.. i dun rmb his name, but i can recognise him as the one who likes to dance all day long & is forever listening to music, whether he's walking in the corridors to attend the next lec/tut or sitting in the lib & grooving to the beat (while still seated on the chair). Clover's quite 'scared' of the fellow, dont want to walk near him, cos who knows he may just start moving & grooving and hit u accidentally. haha. He got to display his breaking skills several times that night too. Moreover, he made the most dramatic entrance as he was introduced as one of the choreographers (so much so that i didnt catch his name).. he pulled the hood over his head, ran in speedily & glided on his knees (friction: not pain?)
Hehe i reached home at around 1140pm, not that late considering the fact that i didnt go backstage & go chitchat/give flowers/take pics..
ch'um ch'unun-got k'onsot'u ul choahaeyo
doesnt matter if u dun understand hehe cos it's in Korean (alphabetised form)
