I was at my cousin's wedding yesterday at Meritus Mandarin. It's in the middle of the Orchard shopping belt, how cool this location seems to be... Hmm... Well, i dun think so after yesterday's traffic jam & heavy rain. Orchard Road's packed with people and cars due to the festive season. Boohoo it took us so long to get to the hotel. Almost everyone else was delayed too. As expected the dinner was served late -at 9pm. Haha luckily i had eaten before coming if not i'll be one poor hungry piggy there. The bride looked pretty that day (ok.. she's supposed to on her wedding day) i like her white gown & red cocktail dress with nice details... I cant remember the last time that i'd seen her, but she certainly slimmed down to fit the nice gowns. The hightlight of the night was probably the screening of a video which showcases the couple when they were young... Those kiddy pics of them drew laughter from their friends... & photos of them together over the years. Initially we thought it was some professional was engaged to create the video, but when the credits come out, my cousin was the editor, supervisor... everything is done by him in other words haha

The more 'important' thing is the banquet food. Hurhur it was ok not very filling unlike other chinese wedding banquets which leave you so full that you have problems sleeping. The famous Hainanese Chicken Rice (ok it used to be famous, now i think the standard has dropped) wasnt as tasty, the chicken was cold & not-so-tender though the rice tasted good. Heard that the original chefs behind their signature dish left the hotel for greener pastures. I joked that they should get Li Nanxing from the Ban3 Wan4 Bao3 serial which is now airing every weekday night where he acted as a former 5star hotel chef specialising in chicken rice. heehee

The dinner ended at 11pm... Yawns... It's still raining then
Luckily the traffic jam's gone & took us less than half an hour to get home
Phew

jam.jam.jam... rain.rain.rain
makes the day so lazy so sian
lol but still i'm feeling happy for the newly wed couple!
